Dayton Audio BST-1 High Power Pro Tactile Bass Shaker 50 Watts

I have had a pair of these installed in my sofa ( actually, more of just stuffing them in the cushions) for well over a year now and I haven't looked back since. All you need to hook these up to a small, inexpensive bass amp and you connect that amp to the bass output of your AV receiver. Tune the bass levels according to taste and you are good to go. Some people will tell you that a good bass(from a subwoofer) setup in any home theatre should be felt and not heard. These bass shakers will complement your setup no matter how good your subwoofer is. It just completes the LFE setup. Every shot or explosion is felt, giving a more realistic experience. On the end of the spectrum, if you don't want to create unnecessary friction with your neighbors, you can watch your movies with the volume down and the bass shakers cranked up. This gives you the experience minus the overpowering volume of your setup and without waking up your neighbors. Of course, there's gotta be a downside right? If not tuned properly, the bass from the soundtrack can be felt and can make the entire movie watching less realistic. Especially if you are reaally particular, time is needed to tune the bass levels for these shakers. All in all, they are relatively affordable ( watch for price drops especially here in amazon) but a good investment to better up your home theatre.

Sim racers listen up. If you have the ability to grab a pair of these and run them with your set up, you will never race without them again! I run in VR and with two of these mounted to the hip areas on my seat, every bump and rumble stip is felt. My biggest surprise was when I gained pace from being able to feel the tires breaking loose very early on in the slide. Honestly, total game changer. Snag an Amp that can properly power these (make sure your Amp power supply is at least 5A and 30ish Volts. I know they are only 50watts each but I was getting multiple amps cutting out. Was not the wattage but the current flow. 5A power supply and you will be good with the 100-150watt Amp

I bought two of this and I’m using one for a flight sim rig and the other for sim racing. What I can say is for flight sims this really is eye opening and I can never fly without it again. For flight sims I use SimHaptic software which tranforms telemetry data like G-forces, wing loading, etc., into sound waves. Run those into an audio amp to drive these and you get immersion and you feel what the plane is doing. Since SimHaptic has support for almost any flight simulation telemetry it works well with Falcon BMS, DCS, and IL2 Great Battles. Heck, my WinCtrl software only works on DCS among those three and its effects aren’t really that informational. No contest. No, it doesn’t make my flight stick have FFB but having these bass shakers kinda fools me that I am getting FFB. Like very subtle stick inputs make you feel something, very awesome. For sim racing I use SimHub and like in flight sims it provides immersive vibrations but I feel like it’s not as informational. For that the steering wheel is still king. Or maybe I haven’t set my effects well yet, idk. Anyway, good buy.
