This is great for extra storage on road trips. I don't know why we didn't buy one years ago.We read the reviews of several and picked this one due to the thickness of the material and size.Very easy to use.We did have some rain on our travels, and the inside items were dry.

Good quality and spacious I love it!!

I got this for our SUV for a cross country trip and it made it to our destination in one piece! This was a god send for our travels for sure! It’s a decent size and I could see it fitting some cars as well. It held several suitcases and bags and still had a little bit of room left. The material is thick and sturdy enough for travel, and our things did not get wet when driving in the rains. We connected the straps to the roof rack, but it could work on a vehicle without the rack by putting the straps on the inside of the car. The zipper was sturdy and stayed put. We also really liked that this came in a bag and came with a pad to put on top of the car to protect it.The issues we had with this was the set up and the straps loosening during the trip. The set up took quite a while to do. Some of the tightening pieces on the straps were installed backwards, so my husband had to remove all of them and install them correctly before we could load everything up. Once the suitcases and bags were loaded, he tightened the straps so it wouldn’t flap in the wind. These straps had to be tightened at least a few times a day when we stopped to get gas. They would loosen and start making loud noises while we were driving.Overall, we are very happy we got this for our long trip! We will be using this again for future road trips to make traveling easier for our family! This did have its issues with set up, but if you keep an eye on it it can be a great addition to your trip!

I absolutely love this car carrier! It was perfect for our needs. It freed up our car so that I could see out the back window when going on a trip. It was easy to strap to the car, and it was a nice touch that it came with the protective blanket to put underneath and also a lock.On the way home, we went through some pretty serious rain, and there was not a drop of moisture in this car carrier. It really held up wonderfully. Also, the thickness is great. I think this will last for many years to come as long as it's taken care of.

We drove from Houston TX to PCB FL. It did not rain but so we didn’t get to test that. But the bag fit plenty so far I think is win the install was easy.

While there are some pros and cons to weight between a soft-sided and hard-sided carrier, this one definitely wins out for me so far thanks to 1. how much easier it is to put up/take down with one person 2. how much easier it is to store and 3. the versatility of being able to attach it with or without any type of roof rack. There are of course still downsides and you have to be careful about how you pack things, but part of the reason #2 is a big one for me is that I don't plan to use it very often, and it's so much easier to store than a hard-sided carrier.

This is my 3rd rooftop carrier and I am very pleased with it. The zippers feel heavy duty, the fabric is high quality and has kept everything dry and protected. The seams and straps are sewn well and very secure.It was easy to set up and install. It installs securely, and feels safe to drive around with. I tested it over a few days by installing it, and recreating conditions I'd travel under. I put clothing items inside storing some ziplocked in plastic and leaving some open to the elements inside the bag, and included some water soluble packing peanuts just to see how dry everything would be. The weather cooperated by providing me with some light rain and wind off and on. While at home for any extended length I parked under a leaky carport (similar coverage to what I'd encounter camping in the mountains with trees everywhere) but for errands the pack was exposed to light rain, snow, and wind sporadically over a few days. On the third night we had a little snow dusting, and I'd forgotten to park under the carport. This bag held up to the weather like a champion, everything stayed dry and in perfect condition! It drove well in town, on bumpy back roads, and on the freeway. No bouncing or sliding issues.It is a lot more storage space than it looks like, I was impressed with how much it held. I chronically over-pack for everything because I like to be prepared, and this storage bag is a huge help for the conflict that arises with my spouse, a minimalist. My over-packing chaos is out of his way, and I have all the extra socks and rope and spare blankets/tarps/towels my little heart desires.I highly highly recommend this storage carrier, and plan to purchase one in the future for a buddy who has an old one falling apart at the seams. Compared to the 2 others I've owned this is a true gem and a ridiculously good value for the price. The quality is exceptional. It even looks good on my car. Easy 5 stars.
