LEGO UK 42082 Rough Terrain Crane

Everyone has an opinion - in my, this is one of the very best Lego Technic sets. Why? Build is very interesting: - There is very little repetition, - Build is challenging as a lot of pieces is crammed into a very compact model, - Gears are fantastic and quite complex to facilitate switching between many functions, - There is lot of interesting Technic pieces It has great play-ability factor - everything except for moving and turning is battery operated and requires gear switching - you can extend/shorten boom, lower/elevate boom, lower/elevate hook, turn crane platform 360, pull in/out stabiliser foot. This set is great value for money too, considering complexity, amount of pieces and playability, and it looks fantastic when assembles, very solid too. Added prefab components to play with are a nice touch.

Reviewed by my 10 year old son. I really enjoyed building this set. I obtained hours of fun playing with this and I am sure I will have tonnes more. The attention to detail is outstanding and all the features work very well. It may not have suspension, but who needs that when you've got 4 gigantic wheels! My favourite non-electric features are the V8 engine ( with rotating fan and detailed decorations ) the mini tool and chain compartments ( which actually contain tools and chains! ) the lifelike operators cabin with fake clutch and the hatch at the back that you can lift up to see the motor, the gearbox and the battery slot. I spent 7 days building this 4005 pieced lego masterpiece, which stopped me from playing video games and watching any TV! Measuring 18 inches long and a whopping 39 inches tall this is a colossal set and is worth the money. Priced around £170 and seeing the RRP is £229 you're getting a lot of technic for your money. Anyone who has brought this set I hope you enjoyed it as much as me!

This was my 7 year old sons Xmas present and he thought it was amazing. It took us 6 weeks to build and £ for entertainment value offers great value. Even once it is built it is a great toy and he spends ages playing with the controls, lifting various objects. Some bits are a little fiddly and he did need help attaching some of the sections together but generally was happy to crack on by himself. In his own words 'lift, amazing, good, cool, tall and big'. Awesome crane that took me about thirty hours to build. I tried to do it straight but had to get some sleep in between when i was getting cross eyed. We took a time frame film of the build condensed into about two minutes which I think anyone making this should do The finished crane is brilliant,it has the additional function of auto slew. It can pick up heavier items and higher than the last and we’ve been doing tandem lifts with both cranes together with surprising results. My only down points are the front and rear of the vehicle are the same. The engine is a bit daft (all Lego engines) in that there is no cylinder heads (could do clear ones),exhaust or inlet. It does now come with a fan but no radiator. My only real criticism is that the building panels that come with the pack are poor as the scale is completely wrong as the door height would be about 1.2 to1.5m high. They shouldn’t have bothered as it’s more fun picking up a size 10 trainer. Kevin age 49

My 13 years old son is building this kit with some of his friends over a period of time as it is quite complex and BIG!! He has been enjoying it very much and so am I. It’s a very detailed model, lots of mechanical details like working axel differentials, 4 wheel steering, simulated piston engine connected to 4WD, etc. Good instructions so far, challenging build and very rewarding. Highly recommended!

So I spent (On & Off) over two weeks building this, just a little bit at a time. What a brilliant build experience you get, the thought and design that went into this model is insane. Even the cab has an opening door, and a fake throttle control. The tool boxes on the side add to the detail as well. There were more stickers than I have encountered in previous models but that isn't a bad thing, for example the oil filter has a warning sticker on it. But overall worth £159.00, its worth noting prices fluctuate on Amazon, and it may go down or up, but seeing the RRP is £229 you are getting a lot of technic for your money. The two book approach is better than one I got from the bucket excavator, breaking the books up strangely makes you feel it goes on for longer. The sections as always show what part your creating, whether that be the engine, out riggers or pivot section for the crane, and they all slot together seamlessly to produce one mother of a model. Glad I got it, will leave it up for a while and then build the pile driver model in a few months....

Lego bricks as always are great, but the way of packing should be different. The tape which should stick the protective film was stuck to the box of Lego. It could not be removed without box damaging. I orderer bricks as a gift so it should not look like this.

This is one of the biggest lego sets. What I particularly like is it works! It has lots of functioning parts which you can control. The only thing not motorised is steering and driving. Takes a few hours to build and instruction are clear although I preferred using the lego website build instructions as I could read them better. Looks great with a lighting kit. I used briksmax kit. A little pricey now as it it no longer a lego set still in production, but has entertainment value in that it works

… comme disent les ados ou grands jeunes de nos jours, que cette imposante grue motorisée. Lego annonce "le modèle le plus imposant de la marque" avec ses 4100 pièces. J'aime prendre mon temps et le montage s'est étalé gentiment sur plus de deux semaines (sympa la retraite : 2 heures chaque matin). L'engin est massif et démontre une fois plus le désir (ou celui des clients) de s'éloigner des "châteaux des courants d'air" de certains modèles plus anciens. Cela dit, il semblerait que les puristes aiment voir les engrenages comme on explore une montre suisse. Cette grue est solide, la densité de pièces assez hallucinante. Aucune erreur permise sur une notice en deux parties de 650 pages. Tout fonctionne parfaitement bien. Le déploiement des stabilisateurs et la rotation de la grue sont un peu lents mais, avec un seul moteur dans la partie grue, ceci explique cela. Dans la vraie vie, on n'installe pas une telle machine en 1 minute. La grue est montée sur une "roulement à galet" constitué des couronnes héritées de l'excavatrice de mine de 2016. Ce n'est pas étranger à sa stabilité. Avec ses 1 m de haut la flèche impressionne et se déplie assez vite. Le panneau commande supérieur inspiré de celui de la grue 42042 offre les deux sens de fonctionnement. Cela évite de tâtonner sur le sens de rotation du moteur. Une manette permet de distribuer la force motrice sur la partie grue ou le véhicule. C'est logique, on n'utilise jamais une grue en roulant (sauf dans Terminator 3, mais c'est une autre histoire :o)) Le design est magnifique, la réalisation robuste, le montage passionnant, bref que du bonheur une fois de plus. Nota : lors des essais, j'ai eu cependant un "bug" ! Lors de l'expansion, ou inversement, de la flèche secondaire à crémaillère, l'arrivée en butée (dans les deux sens) provoquait la sortie de la partie mâle de l'un des cardans (photo 1). C'est assez logique, mais je passe sur l'explication (une histoire de couple dans les engrenages). Pour celles ou ceux qui auraient aussi ce problème : une solution simple (photo 2). Il suffit d'inverser l'ordre de pose des engrenages lors des opérations 855 et 857 de la notice 2). L'axe incriminé est alors directement en lien avec l'engrenage possédant un frein de protection et ça marche au poil… (Photo 2). Les deux pièces étant de même diamètre et de même denture, il n'y a aucune différence de fonctionnement. La modification est accessible sans trop de difficultés même en fin de montage.

Dopo aver visto la scala di questo modello e ogni sua funzione, mi sono promesso di acquistarlo. E finalmente durante il Black Friday ne sono entrato in possesso. Questa grande Gru è il set Technic più grande realizzato da Lego. Ha un rapporto tra prezzo e numero di parti ottimo. Come al solito gli ingegneri Lego hanno fatto un bel lavoro con dei dettagli incredibili. Non è il primo set Technic che costruisco ma non è stata una passeggiata. Per montarlo ho impiegato circa 13 ore di lavoro divise in 5 giornate. Bisogna stare attenti ad ogni singola parte, potrebbe essere molto stressante accorgersi di aver messo male dei pezzi e dover quindi ricontrollare tutto... Nel modello vengono utilizzate molte tecniche costruttive utili e vantaggiose che gli Afol potranno utilizzare per creare le proprie Moc. Gli ingranaggi che sono mossi dal grande motore Lego danno alla gru movimenti e potenza per poter alzare pesi tosti! La fase costruttiva non è stata mai noiosa è un set incredibile, grandioso complesso bello da mettere in mostra e interessante da far funzionare. In qualunque parte lo posizionerete fará sempre parlare di se.

This is a cool but very complex set. The more complex the set, the more important it is to follow the instructions perfection to avoid errors. Depending on finger size and strength, a few of the instructions may be difficult to achieve physically. My copy had some errors in the instructions that raised a little confusion. Anyone skilled enough to build this set could probably figure it out. I would highly recommend this set. It seems like the kind of set that will go up in price, especially if you leave it in the box. Maybe get two.

👍🏼 : Uno de los tres sets más grandes, complejos y detallistas de la gama de Lego Technic de todos los tiempos, miles de piezas, muchos detalles, engranajes a doquier, movimiento y soporte. Evidentemente su montajes es muy intenso y el juego con la grúa terminada adquiere otro nivel, pero incluso es digno de exponerlo una vez terminado, porque es una verdadera obra de ingeniería… Mi hija y yo estamos empezando, y cálculo que tardaremos unas 15 tardes de montaje en total, así que es un reto de paciencia y abstracción. Este tipo de sets es ideal para mejorar el movimiento fino, comprender a leer planos y sobre todo empodera a los más pequeños en hacer tareas que tardan varios días para conseguir una finalidad exclusiva. Es el tercero que montamos de estas dimensiones, y estamos muy contentos, en realidad no entiendo cómo ella puede estar tan entusiasmada… 📦 : De las cajas más grandes de Lego, 58 x 48 x 17 cm. y pesa casi 6 Kg, entre piezas, motor y las súper instrucciones de montaje divididas en dos libros profusamente ilustrados de más de 200 páginas cada uno y con el estilo preciso y detallista que nos tiene acostumbrados. Contiene 26 bolsas numeradas en 13 pasos de construcción. Las primeras bolsas, los libros y las pegatinas vienen separadas en una caja blanca. Además, separadamente tenemos una base para instalar las baterías, un motor que hará funcionar todo el sistema de la grúa y las tremendas ruedas de goma autentica que miden 95 mm de diámetro, las más grandes de Lego… 👨‍👧‍👧 _ Orientado para mayores de 11 años, pero necesitarán ayuda para montar o revisar ciertas partes minuciosas al principio… 🧱 _ 4057 piezas, aunque a nosotros nos ha parecido que incluye mayor proporción de piezas muy pequeñas que otros sets de Lego… 🔧 _ Perteneciente a la gama de Lego Technic, es el set emblema del año 2018. Junto con el set Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 (42043), el set Excavadora de cangilones (42055) y el set Excavadora Liebherr R 9800 (42100) hacen el grupo de construcción más grande de la marca… 🏡 _ Al final del montaje tendremos una grúa móvil, que mide 76 x 20 x 27 cm. recogida, pero que puede alcanzar más de un metro de altura. 🚗 _ Las partes de la grúa (alzado, giro y enganche) son motorizadas, aunque el desplazamiento, el giro de ruedas o las otras (muchas) funciones son manuales… El montaje es bastante más complejo al principio, ya que incluye la parte inferior del camión, así que recomiendo revisar bien los pasos del 1 al 3 y todos los demás que incluyan engranajes, ya que tienen que moverse libremente, sin grandes roces y ni ruidos extraños… Hay un modelo secundario, con instrucciones que se deben descargar de la web de Lego, que permiten montar una pilotadora, y por fin no es necesario desmontar completamente el modelo principal… En definitiva, es un set completo, grandioso y lleno de detalles, a los coleccionistas les encanta, a los adultos que lo montan les impresiona, pero puedo asegurarles que cuando nuestras hijas e hijos lo montan, su cara de orgullo es el mejor regalo… Muy satisfecho con esta compra y lo recomiendo completamente, que aunque su coste pueda asustar, es un paso adelante en su calidad de juego y educación… Saludos👋🏼 y “buen montaje”!!!
