Star Trek: The Art of John Eaves

The media could not be loaded.  A fantastic, new, large, hardback book collecting some of the amazing artwork produced by John Eaves during his illustrious career working in the Star Trek art department to produce concept designs for so many props, ships and sets from Deep Space Nine, Enterprise and some work on Voyager and The Next Generation.This book is collected and edited by Joe Nazzaro who also has a significant history in Star Trek publishing.John has also worked on the JJ Abrams Star Trek Kelvin-verse and most recently Discovery.I would have preferred to see more concept designs for props from Enterprise and Deep Space Nine but hopefully that will come in an separate volume.Please support John and buy a copy of this book, it may lead to more volumes with more of John's Star Trek concept art.

I purchased this book a few days ago and haven't put it down since. This book evokes memories of reading The Making of Deep Space Nine or Phase II: The Making of the Lost Series for the first time in that it offers both a glimpse of what might have been and a window into the world of making Star Trek (and no doubt many other similar programs), detailing the amount of thought and the immense attention to detail put into designs before they're any near being screen-ready.Concept designs are offered up the way they're supposed to be - on paper, hand-drawn, beautifully thought out, emotionally engaging and inspirational to boot. The backstories offered to the reader about certain elements are just as inspirational. This book is a must-have for any sci-fi fan with a love of design.Truly hoping that there will be many follow-ups to this, detailing not only Johns work but that of his colleagues too.

Amazing book with some beautiful images and tells the pre production story well of the Star Trek projects , Eaves is an amazing imagineer ,!

Not all of the pages were separated/cut at the bottom from the printers probably. Looked like they had printed the book Pages on A2 and folded then into four pages at a time, as the bottom of every so many pages were stuck together/uncut. It was very embarrassing when I presented it as an early Christmas presents we spent most of the time cuttibg each page with a knife.

DS9, Discovery, the Next Generation movies and more.Pity the book was published before Eaves designed the USS Till for the DS9 documentary.

Bought as a present. Great book. Well presented. Gift loved by the fan. :)

Wonderful book, and it also includes great drawings from the last Star Trek Discovery series...

My hubby was thrilled with this book. He is a massive trek fan and also met John Eaves in person, which I have to say is a lovely guy! Very very happy 😊
