Professional-looking footage with plenty of smart features to make filming easier and more creative
Setup was extremely simple; I had it balanced and ready to go within minutes after watching the quick tutorial. The build feels solid and premium, and it comes with a nice hard case, a tripod, and all the necessary cables right out of the box. The detachable touchscreen remote is easily my favorite part. Being able to see the live view and control everything without walking back to the camera is a game-changer. The AI tracking is impressively smooth as it keeps up even if I move quickly or change direction. The built-in adjustable fill light on the tracker is a nice touch, too, and the telescoping handle makes it way easier to get high, low, or wide shots without extra gear. Battery life is solid, usually lasting me most of the day unless I’m using the tracker and light non-stop. It’s a bit heavier than some gimbals I’ve used, but it feels sturdy and well-balanced. One thing to note: if you’re recording with your phone’s built-in mic, you might pick up a faint hum from the motors. I switched to a Bluetooth mic, and it solved the problem completely. Overall, this gimbal delivers smooth, professional-looking footage with plenty of smart features to make filming easier and more creative.

A Well-Advance Smartphone Gimbal - Hohem iSteady M7
When I received my Hohem iSteady M7, the high quality of the packaging and protective carrying case stood out. And that same quality continued as I assembled the gimbal (which was very simple). The instructions were clear and the instructional online video options are also high quality. It was simple to hook up to my phone and away I went with playing with this new gimbal. I have other Hohem products, and they keep advancing in what they put out. A couple of the features that are amazing are the detachable magnetic remote control and the telescoping option on the gimbal. The remote control has many great options as well as being able to see what the ai tracking is seeing. You can control everything from this remote and the ai tracking is the smoothest I have seen in a gimbal. The telescoping part of the gimbal makes it versatile in what height you need. The telescoping mechanism is very strong, and the smooth movement is not affected by the full extension of the gimbal. Whether you are using this for fun or for your business, this gimbal is what you need. Quality and functionality and ease of use all in one product. I highly recommend this iSteady M7 for your videography and photography needs (and wants).

Impressive
Just when you thought gimbals have reached their zenith, Hohem brings fresh ideas to the table with their iSteady M7. This is a modestly priced, smart, feature-rich gimbal. This model is suited to off-the-cuff, solo content creators. The setup is straight-forward. First, download the Hohem Joy app from your app store, unlock all motors, mount the phone and balance. Then pair the gimbal to the phone from the app, and way you go. There are two main innovations that set the M7 apart from the rest. First is the detachable “AI” tracker. Rather than relying on software to track its subjects (person or object), the tiny AI tracker itself contains a camera that tracks your movements. You can use gestures to start/stop the tracking, and reframe (if you want to off set the composition—the default is center composition). The tracking is assured and consistent. The tracker has two feet that are magnetic, so you can stick it onto any metal object (say, a light pole) for flexibility. This tiny unit also has a built-in LED light with RGB settings (can be controlled from the remote). The second is its detachable remote control with a 1 ½” square touch screen. With this unit, you can monitor what the AI tracker is seeing and make all the adjustments. Once detached, the remote has a range of 10 meters and it gives you full control of the gimbal’s movements and features, such as its modes like Pan Follow (tilt motor locked), Pan Tilt Follow, POV (all unlocked including roll motor), and Custom (you can unlock Tilt, Roll, and Pan). For usability, however, you can use the front trigger to quickly change modes: for instance, when you are in the PF mode, single press and hold enables the lock mode; and single click, release then hold puts it in the sports mode. The sports mode allows the gimbal to quickly follow the action by closely mirrorring your movements. There are attachments you can pick up. For instance, a handle extention for more assured and secure handling. There is a standard female thread to attach a mic, for instance (see picture). As mentioned above, this gimbal is targeted toward solo content creators, as such it telescopes out to maximum of around 7 ½” long to suit diverse shooting situations. The battery life is around 12 hours, which from my experience is about right. As an added bonus, you can also use the gimbal as a power bank for when your devices lose their juice. Overall, this is an impressive product that offers a lot of innovation at a reasonable price point. I would highly recommend this product.

iPhone 13 Pro user - tip included
I recently bought the Hohem iSteady M7 Gimbal Stabilizer for my iPhone 13 Pro, and overall, I’m really happy with it! I use it for filming social media videos for clients, so stability and smooth shots are essential for me. The gimbal does an excellent job in that department! The AI tracking feature is awesome, and the detachable touchscreen remote is a game changer. It makes controlling everything so much easier while filming. One of my favorite features is the extendable rod. That’s been one of my biggest complaints about other gimbals — they’re just too short. It’s so great to finally have the ability to extend the rod for those wider shots and more flexibility. However, I did run into a little issue with audio. When I recorded with just the iPhone’s built-in microphone, I noticed a rumbling sound. After calling the company, they suggested the motor might be the cause since the balance seemed fine. I returned the first gimbal and bought a second one, but I encountered the same issue. After digging through some online forums, I realized I just needed to use a Bluetooth microphone to avoid the rumbling. Once I made that switch, the issue was completely solved, and I haven’t looked back! It’s been amazing for my social media projects, and I highly recommend it, especially if you’re doing any sort of video work where you need smooth shots and great features like the magnetic AI tracker and fill light. Definitely worth it!

Great Upgrade: Hohem iSteady M7 Gimbal Stabilizer
Having owned the Hohem iSteady M6 for quite some time, I decided to upgrade to the new Hohem iSteady M7, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The M7 addresses all the features I've enjoyed in the M6 while introducing several enhancements that elevate the user experience to a whole new level. First the stabilization on the M7 is noticeably smoother, making it perfect for capturing professional-quality videos while walking, running, or even inside a vehicle. The AI tracking feature has been spot-on, with significant improvements over the M6, ensuring my subject stays perfectly framed without any glitches. The addition of a user-friendly app is another brilliant upgrade. The Hohem Joy app has become even more intuitive, providing seamless control over the gimbal's functions directly from my smartphone. Plus, the M7's compatibility with live content on apps like TikTok and Instagram is a game-changer for content creators like myself. The design improvements in the M7 are also commendable. It's lighter than the M6, yet it retains a durable build that feels great in hand. The battery life has been excellent, allowing me to shoot for extended periods without worry. Overall, the Hohem iSteady M7 takes the robust features of the M6 and enhances them significantly, making it a must-have tool for any smartphone videographer. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and advanced gimbal stabilizer.

Good gimbal for workflow and hobby use, but I still prefer DJI
I bought the Hohem iSteady M7 gimbal because I wanted a smartphone stabilizer that could work for both hobby filming and a more professional workflow. Overall, it is a good product. The stabilization does what it is supposed to do, and it can definitely help make phone footage look smoother and more controlled compared to handheld filming. For YouTube, studio work, hobby videos, travel clips, or general content creation, it has useful features. The magnetic AI tracker and fill light are nice additions, especially if you film by yourself and need the camera to follow you or want a little extra light without adding more gear. The build quality feels decent, and it has enough functionality to be useful in a small recording setup or mobile filming setup. That said, I am not a huge fan of it personally. It works, but I still prefer DJI products. The Hohem has good features, but the overall feel, workflow, and user experience just do not hit the same for me compared to DJI gear. For value for money, I think it depends on what you need. If you want a feature-packed smartphone gimbal with AI tracking and a fill light, this can be a solid option. If you already like DJI products and are used to that ecosystem, you may feel the same way I do. Would I buy it again? Maybe, but if I had to choose for myself, I would probably lean toward DJI.

The detachable screen and selfie stick mode are amazing!
First, a note on the packaging of my unit: I've gotten several gimbals from this seller (SZ_ABTO Security), and every single one of them has come thoroughly wrapped and taped in water-impermeable plastic. I know it's not Amazon doing this, because just under the wrapping they always include a nice microfiber cloth with their logo on it ... so thanks guys. This one got rained on a bit, and I appreciate your attention to detail that saved it from being exposed to any moisture. Now, onto the gimbal itself: I got this to use with my Chunky Monkey of a phone (a Samsung S24 Ultra) and it handles it like a champ. Zero issues with stabilization even though it's one of the heaviest phones you can get. On top of that, it's dead-simple to balance, with only one adjustment needed ... the difference between that and the gimbals I use with my cameras is astounding. This literally takes 10 seconds to balance and you're done. This gimbal itself is also a bit of a chunky monkey, which suites me perfectly. It's well-built and, feels solid in my hand. The iSteady M7 held my phone (with its case on) easily and stabilized my shots well. Its core functions are on-point. I can't speak to the battery life because I haven't used it in more than an hour sprint, but I can say that a 1 hour session doesn't put a dent in it. The big news, though, is the improvements that Hohem has made since the the M6. Remember 15 years ago when cell phones got better every year, and each new generation got some revolutionary upgrade that set it apart from the last ... before they all became generic monolithic chunks of glass? When the manufacturers were actually creative? That time is NOW for gimals. What a fun time to be into this hobby. Here's the skinny. I'll start with the boring iterative stuff and save the good stuff for last: - Redesigned removable AI-tracking camera the usual boring iterative improvements here, plus the new one locks on, my recollection is that the old one could be knocked off. Solid fix. - Increased payload capacity to handle larger phones (my chunky monkey and I thank you, Hohem), cases, and add-on lenses without any trouble. - Motor-out-of-the-way wide-angle mode (4-click trigger on the handle) to remove obstructions when shooting with ultra-wide lenses. - Super easy transition from portrait to vertical with just a twist of the phone (I *think* this is new, but don't quote me on that) - Built-in selfie stick ... give the top a yank up from the handle and it appears out of nowhere. At first I thought "neat, that's a nice improvement" ... but then I realized -- I was using a selfie stick, and my hands were still on the controls. This improvement is right up there with the screen - a huge leap in usability, and a very creative feature addition. A+, Hohem. - THE FREAKIN AMAZING ONE: It has a **detachable** 1.4″ full-color touchscreen remote that previews a live feed from the AI tracker and lets you control all of the gimbals features, including letting you select tracking targts ... WIRELESSLY! I mean, the gestures were neat and useful on the M6, but being able to just tap-tap a target on the screen while you have it on a tripod is a generational improvements. The highlight for me is unquestionably the detachable screen. It’s not just a gimmick -- you wireless live preview from the AI camera so you can see exactly what the gimbal is tracking, which can sometimes be slightly different that the phone's view. It also helps to make it easier to tweak the phone's position in the clamp to better align it with the sensor, and gives the obvious improvement in the ease-of-use for the AI tracking. Overall, Hohem nailed it with this thing. It's got all the incremental improvements you'd expect from an iterative upgrade, and TWO neat and super useful, extra-creative fuctionality adds that I really didn't expect (the selfie stick and the wireless screen). If you've got the old one and you use the tracking features, this is definitely worth it. Also, in case anyone loses it, I put photos of the manual in with the rest of my pictures.

Exceptional Gimbal with Precision and Convenience!
Exceptional Gimbal with Precision and Convenience! I absolutely love everything about this gimbal! It captures incredibly smooth and stable videos with impressive precision. The built-in tracking ensures that footage stays steady and professional-looking, making it a game-changer for videography. One of my favorite features is the remote control—it allows you to adjust everything effortlessly while still keeping an eye on your phone screen. The convenience of making real-time changes at your fingertips is fantastic. Battery life is also solid, lasting a reliable 3 to 4 hours of continuous use, which is more than enough for most shooting sessions. The build quality is outstanding, with premium materials that feel durable and well-designed. Overall, this gimbal exceeds expectations in both performance and ease of use. If you’re looking for a high-quality stabilizer, this is definitely the one to get!

Nice but not great! A bit disappointing
Not really that simple to use! The video does not display on the remove once I remove from the device the remote video image disappears! You also need the microphone because you can’t plug the ones you already have as it doesn’t fit with balancing! Need also the tripod as the one it goes with is so short not even worth it!

Klasse Gimbal
