Aromastone Aromatherapy Scented Oil Diffuser, Blue

It looks like a 70's style ashtray, and yet it's surprisingly effective at what it does. I put 3 drops of lavender oil in the central 'hot spot' of the bowl and I can smell it throughout my room for hours...I seriously underestimated this thing. It looks so underwhelming (and a bit Abigail's Party), and it's not so much a hotplate as a kinda warmish plate, but for all that you can definitely smell your essential oils and it's really low maintenance too (unlike the ultrasonic diffusers which require some care when cleaning, particularly around the ultrasonic plate and the air vent). With this, it's just a quick once over with a facial wipe and you're ready for your next scent.I've grown to like this chubby little aromastone, so much so that I've stopped using my ultrasonic diffusers altogether. It's a pity it won't sell well in this modern day and age, what with the way it looks and everything, but it's a good, solid and safe alternative to the cheap Chinese diffusers that you see all over Amazon.

I have used lots of different diffusers over the years, and this is the second of this type I have bought. Without doubt, this my preferred diffuser and is probably used three or four times a day when I’m at home.It requires less attention (and is safer) than diffusers with tea-lights, and doesn’t leave an area of oily residue around it in the way that high-frequency water vapour models do.I much prefer to use this model with a small amount of water in its concave surface, to reduce the risk of burning fragile oils. It also makes the diffuser easier to clean between use.

This is a very gentle, safe electric diffuser for room fragrancing with your favourite essential oils. Made from porcelain, this diffuser weighs around 250g, size approximately 4" diameter, 2" in height. The central well is approx. 2.5" across, and about a quarter inch deep.It's mains operated and totally silent in use. The power cord is a good length - 180cm, or almost 6 feet long, in old money.Once plugged in, this unit takes about 15 minutes to get up to working heat - the well has a 'hot spot' in the centre, cooler, but still warm towards the outer edges. The base of the unit and the walls don't get hot, so you won't need to sit the unit on any insulating mat.This unit doesn't overheat if left on for extended periods - I have mine on pretty much constantly.A few drops of EO lasts for hours. To change the fragrance is easy - just wipe out the well with a piece of damp kitchen paper, and add a few drops of fresh oil. The fragrancing is gentler than in a tealight burner, but the oils last longer and the cumulative effect is better, in my opinion.When I use a tealight burner, I've got to add water so the oil doesn't 'fry' - and although initially the scent is more powerful, I'm constantly topping up with water, and adding a bit more oil.With this unit, I can put in the oil, and virtually forget about it. No worrying about flames, or overheating, or danger of an accidental spill, or fire risk.Before everywhere went 'energy efficient' with the new cooler light bulbs, I used to put a few drops of my favourite oil on the glass lampshade over an incandescent bulb, and the whole room was suffused with fragrance from the heat of the lightbulb. Can't do that now, with the cool bulbs.But this stone gives me back that lovely fragrance, with none of the risk.The only thing that lost this lovely stone its fifth star, is that there isn't any switch on/off - you have to turn it on or off at the socket, which is a nuisance if the socket isn't in an easily accessible spot.

I broke my psychic sisters diffuser on Wednesday. They are very hard to find so I ordered this one. It arrived yesterday. First try today. I have used a lot of oil with very little return. First try was 5+4+3 drops of 3 types of oil. After ten minutes...nothing. I added 5+4 drops of two stronger oils. If you stand over it, you can smell something. I have moved it closer to my chair and can smell a little scent. The room is very small but if you walk 5 feet away from diffuser you can not smell anything.I would not recommend and would not buy again.

This is just what I was looking for to compliment my water based mist diffusers! Some oils just smell better warmed up so I went hunting for a safe electric oil warmer/burner. It took some time to find this but I'm glad I did! A few drops of oil in the centre of the well, plug it in and in aroun 10mins it's fully up to temperature. At first I was concerned it wouldn't get hot enough, but it does! So whilst I plugged it in for the first time I touched the centre of the bowl as it warmed. I am NOT suggesting you do this! It gradually got hotter and hotter to the point if you kept your finger there for more than a couple of seconds it would burn you. Like a very hot bath. I doubt it would take the skin off your finger but it's hot enough! The oil releases its fragrance gently around the room knowing that there's no flame and the temperature is regulated means you can relax. You would want to keep it out of reach of small children, basically treat it in the same way as a candle. The edges of the stone get warm and the bottom gets very slightly warm. No warmer than a cat sat on your table, so it won't damage your surfaces. Plus it has felt on the base too. Feels a nice weight and well made.I am so pleased I came back for another and was offered a special deal 🐱. I was also very surprised to find it's actually made in the UK too! So far, loving this cute little stone.

I was a little worried given some of the mediocre reviews but I'm really glad i took a chance on this. It may not look the prettiest but it really works, spreads the scent around the whole room and is so easy to clean.I was specifically looking for a flame free oil diffuser that wasn't a humidifier as being in scotland i need a dehumidifier not a humidifier.I couldnt be happier and now have two
