Ordered this murphy bed cabinet because I wanted a place for my guests to sleep, but I wanted to be able to put it away when not being used. It took about 5 hours to put together... I was doing it by myself. I'm a very capable DIY'er, but I like to take my time and do it right. It came with lots of pieces flat packed in 2 boxes so it was a little overwhelming when I took everything out. All the pieces were labeled so it wasn't hard to assemble. The directions were just pictures so if you can assemble Ikea furniture or build Lego sets, you'll be fine. Now that I've installed it, it seems to be working fine. Interestingly enough, my 17yo grandson has taken it over and he now sleeps on it full time while he stays with us. His use will be a good test of its sturdiness. So far it seems to be doing well, but I wouldn't suggest diving onto it. The weight limits are little less than I would like. It doesn't feel flimsy, but I would be happier if it was rated to hold at least 100 more pounds than its rated for. Even still the build quality is nice and it very easily holds a six inch mattress. I wanted the most comfort I could get for my guests (grandson now) and the 6 inch gel mattress just looked to be more comfortable. My biggest concern was whether the 6" mattress would fit, and it did with no issues. So far no complaints from my grandson on it's comfort. I actually think I should have made it less comfortable so maybe he'd be less inclined to visit so much. Lol. Even still, I would recommend it. Time will tell about it's sturdiness, but it feels like it'll hold up.

This murphy bed was exactly what I was looking for. I needed a spare bed that could fold away when not needed. It took a bit to assemble but the directions were easy to follow. Once assembled it was sturdy and comfortable. It folds away easily and has lots of storage. For the price it is great. Overall it is a a great investment.

If I hadn’t thrown the box out I would have packed it all back up and returned it. Numerous wood pieces were warped, the directions were the worst I’ve personally experienced, it is extremely for a single individual to open up the bed, and the wood parts are not durable. The product is damaged and we didn’t realize the horrible craftsmanship or we would have never purchased. I can’t recommend enough to NOT buy this.

this thing is a bugger to put together!! after 3 days and going backwards in the "step by step" directions... i finally got it put together enough to use . the directions need to be clearer on which way the pieces face, and what part goes where! it was a 75% guessing game, so if you like puzzels... this is the one for you! it is comfortable, looks really nice... says it will hold a 10 inch mattress... however.. my mattress is 6 inches and barely fits. so buyer beware of getting extra toppers for the bed! you will have to find someplace to store it! i guess you get what you pay for. i chose to go the "cheaper" route and wish i would have spent a tad more and got a better quality. for what it is going to be used for i suppose it will be fine. i will have to do some minor adjustments to get it to completely close at the bottom... but nothing that will hamper the use.

Great cabinet! A little tedious to assemble, but overall not too bad. The latches on one of the sides does not latch properly but nothing worth the return.

I love this bed! It was not that difficult to put together, I did it mostly by myself. I have been putting my very infrequent overnight guests on a queen air mattress for years, and my spare room was a disaster. I can't do a traditional murphy bed because my ceilings are too low and with the ceiling fan and small room size... just won't work. I loved this particular design because I had 2 existing bookcases I could replace the doors on to make them match (thanks, IKEA). Anyway, this came out so great, and i slept on it for a couple of nights to make sure guests would be comfortable. It's great!Fast forward, I wanted to show a friend how it works. I unfolded the panels but didn't make sure one set of fold out legs was properly in position, and had her sit on the bed. We heard a loud CRACK, and the 2 side pieces of the faux drawer panel had split! Oh no! I messaged this seller through Amazon, and they were AMAZING. They sent me the parts I needed, and i was able to repair it in under 15 min with help. Their customer service was just outstanding, so I would recommend them 100%.

The front panel is ridiculously heavy, to he point of being dangerous. I won't let guest, elderly, or kids try to open it for fear they will break it or hurt themselves.

We purchased this Murphy bed cabinet for our game room to accommodate holiday guests! It worked perfectly! We put it in our media room, and when we don’t have guests, it folds up nicely and I love the look of the cabinet. It fit in nicely with the rest of the decor. It has great storage capacity, and we use the bottom drawer to store the blankets and sheets that go on the bed. We purchased a tri-fold mattress (6”) and it folds up nicely in the cabinet too!The assembly was not complicated, but it did take two of us over 4 hrs to put together. I do feel like it is sturdy, and well built.
