Good item but a bit fiddly to fit
This is a good item. It's basically the same as many others you can buy except there is a tiny pneumatic piston in there that cushions the door when it is slammed open. This I needed because the door I was fitting it to could either slam shut or slam open depending which way the wind was blowing!Firstly it works very well. Even if the door is opened with speed it manages to quietly and safely catch it. The magnet is surprisingly strong.I had to fit mine to the wall rather than the skirting board, because it was just a little too long to use attached to the skirting. It added another 20mm to fit it to the skirting which was just too much.My only criticism is that it is difficult to fit. The problem is that the center bolt on the wall piece is not attached to the mount bracket. Yet alignment is critical. The bolt can go in place in one of four orientations in the bracket and the bracket itself can go on the wall three orientations. After you line everything up for the locations of the holes the orientations must not change! If they do then the wall unit ball may not correctly line up with the receiver. End result is that it's very weak or in fact it just won't catch at all. The magnets only hold well if everything is fitted perfectly. And by heavens they are strong! But 2mm off-center and they are weak, 4mm out in any direction and they will barely hold anything. So good product but difficult to fit. The bracket needs to be changed so the bolt in the middle of it is fixed and they need an arrow to mark the top so you remember where the top is when you take it off to drill the holes. Simple changes that would make a world of difference. Still, once fitted it works extremely well.

Great magnet and very easy to fit. Looks good too
Really good product. Fits easily to the wall or floor. There are either 3 screws with rawl plugs or a central anchor. You can use either. I was a little concerned at the power of the magnet at first, you need to be He-Man to get these things apart but when it’s fitted with the weight of the door it’s absolutely fine. The spring loaded mechanism is a nice touch as well. It cushions the impact of the door is opened too quickly. The bit that fits onto the door is with 2 screws. Takes 5 mins to install. Will buy another one for the opposite door now as didn’t realise that you had to select 2 otherwise you only get a singe unit

Absolutely superb
Incredible value for money. If I saw this in a shop I’d expect a £20 price tag. Very powerful magnet. The stainless steel is precision machined, and the dampener feels oil filled - like on a high end kitchen soft close unit. The cup/socket side also has a spring within. The instructions aren’t the best if you’re screw fixing. A tip... Decide where you want to fit the complete unit, pull it apart and fit the smaller cup/socket side first to the door. Then part assemble the ball side with the square head bolt through the fixing plate LOOSELY. ‘Stick’ the two magnets together, colour in the square head of the bolt with a marker pen (or paint for masonry) and open the door fully. Make sure the head of the bolt goes through the plate and it should leave a mark on the wall or skirting board. Then you can take apart, line up the head with the centre of the mark, and pop the three screws in.

Excellent door stop
I'm happy with this door stop. It stops the door bouncing against the skirting and closing again. I fixed it to the wall above the skirting board, as its base diameter is too large for the skirting board. So it's easy to sweep the floor under it, too - bonus! The door part has to be perfectly aligned with the wall part or the magnet won't hold. I don't understand the one review that said the parts have to be the same way up. They can go any way up. The instructions are comprehensible (some funny words, but understandable) and helpful.I aligned the parts by putting a tissue between the magnets so they are easier to separate, affixing the wall part, putting some double sided tape on the door part, opening the door so the stopper stuck to the door, and marking its position for drilling.Actually, after all that, I have left the tissue paper wrapped around the stopper to reduce the magnetic connection a bit as otherwise it's very strong.

Too Good for our purposes!
Purchased this to hold back our newly fitted trifold doors as we especially liked the hydraulic aspect of this product. However, we are having to return it as the magnet is far too strong for the doors we bought it for and I can't even detach the two pieces from each other! It's a very sold product which will be perfect for heavy doors.

Looks and feels like a great engineered piece
This is a great piece of workmanship, looking forward to putting this in place.Another great factor of this is that if needed it can be secured in at a 45 degree angle to the door giving plenty of opportunitys

Strong magnet, easy to fit
Excellent product. Strong magnet which easily holds a fire door. Extra fittings and lack of instructions confusing but it's pretty straightforward to fit. Soft closing is long so it absorbs the door very well. Looks solid, not a design piece and I would have liked other colour options. Still I bought more and strongly recommended.

Effective & quite stylish
These do a great job. They catch doors softly & hold them open strongly.Door stops are never going to be subtle, but these are reasonably attractive & they fit in with my house style. They seem solidly constructed & have worked very well these last few months.
