I was a bit skeptic since I have not seen it a lot of these on the streets but that makes it even more unique. - Installation: pretty straight forward although some hardware was missing, nothing I couldn’t solve by sorting through my bolts stock though. I installed it myself with some help from my kids but I would recommend assistance from a second fully grown adult. Electrical installation was not difficult but Hooke Road could have helped by maybe including a bit longer cables not just two tiny pigtails. Other brands do, but no big deal, nothing that a run to outoparts store wouldn’t fix. - winch install: the winch plate fitted perfectly a 12000 pounds winch. However, I went with cable and the winch guide wouldn’t fit since it was the one with the rollers. To fit the rollers I would need to remove at least one or both of the tubes in the front, but I like the look of those. So until I find a guide that fits in between the tubes I will not be installing any or using my winch. Also, if you have a factory skid plate, the winch plate is not compatible with it. I modified mine to fit it because I like it better than aftermarket skid plates. (See first picture) - Looks: it fits my gladiator perfectly and looks amazing. My family and friend all compliment it and all mention how though it feels. It doesn’t wobble and it doesn’t rattle. Aerodynamic? Not really but I have not felt any difference, my fuel consumption also remains steady between 16 - 17 mpg. Recommend it: 100% Review: Install was not difficult but did take about 2 hours. - 2023 JT - This bumper is great and easy to install. Instructions were not clear, but with a YouTube video I found and the instructions that came with it the install went smoothly. Two small screws were missing for one of the cross bars. I still have to contact Hoake Road and get them replaced. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Could've been great. *by A***R on 29 May 2025* This bumper could have been great. Instead, it is just OK. If it wasn't so heavy and such a hassle, I would've returned it. It has some design issues, the instructions are terrible, the hardware is soft, and the finish is fragile. To start, the instruction are not that great. They are not detailed at all and the order in which they assemble the bumper is odd. You should assemble the bumper, then the brush guard and then put them together. TIP 1: Do not tighten the bars on the brush guard until you have everything connected and in position. Hardware: the bolts are soft and the hex socket rounds easily. The bolts/nuts should be grade 8. Design: 2 major problems. For whatever reason, the wings that attach to the box that has the light in it are too tall. Oddly, the wings are the same height as the main bumper body but can't bolt to it because the holes are different. Not only does this look odd, it leaves an open hole in the wing that will collect moisture and rust. I don't understand why the boxes with the lights are smaller than the main bumper. Doesn't make sense and looks weird. Also, the cross tubes all have open ends. If you live in a state that uses salt in the winter, these are all rust traps. TIP 2: buy 6-1.5" plastic hole plugs and 2-3/8"plastic hole plugs to plug the open ends of all the tubes. This will help prevent rust. I don't understand why Hooke Road doesn't include them in the kit. Lastly, the powder coat finish is thin, brittle and flakes easily. It should be thicker and more durable. Overall, it looks nice. But, I can see the issues coming and believe that I will have to take it in and have it powder coated again in a year or two. For the money, it is ok.
