Amazing tablet, well done Sony.
I've had this tablet for about a week now and all I can say is that I love it. I've used an ipad before and can honestly say I'd much rather have the Sony. Lightweight, well thought-out, and runs android ;). I've never had a tablet before but I can honestly say this tablet feels like the best their is so far.Pros:- Battery lasts just as long as an iPad with the same usage (around 2-3 days with normal use: games, videos etc)- Takes micro SD, which is HUGE for people wanting to easily transfer big video files for journeys/ trips etc... Nexus/ iPad and many others don't have this- Waterproof, which may seem like a gimmick, but honestly you can be at ease when using this tablet around drinks or cooking- Lightweight, which means you can hold it for (I find) up to 5 times longer than an ipad or other tablet- HD screen is very clear, and although it isn't anywhere the same as the Google Nexus 10, watching 1080p videos on this device is still amazing- What Sony have done in terms of their own settings feels really enjoyable, simple things like changing the background or moving files is pleasing and easy.- This might sound silly because it's a simple thing, but the remote app on the device is truly amazing. Thanks to the IR transmitter on the top, you can control everything in your house: TV, WD Player, DVD player, speakers etc... I haven't found anything I can't use it with yet.- While it doesn't feel like the high-end design of an iPad or other devices, I personally love the design and feel of the tablet, I don't fear the back of it scratching, and holding it feels nicer and easier to grip than the iPad.Cons:- While the battery lasts a generous amount of time, charging the tablet seems to take forever... Taking longer than overnight, it can be nuisance. (I haven't timed it, but I would say it takes a good 20+ hours to charge)- Because of its IP55 and IP57 protections (waterproof & dust proof), it means the tablet has to have flaps for everything except the speakers: charging slot, SD card slot and headphone jack socket. Although the charging slot flap has a useful 'latching' system which means the flap sort of in-beds itself into the frame of the tablet. The headphone flap does not, which is weird since it looks easy enough to implement, and means you have a relatively 'flimsy' flap flying around while you have headphones on.- The SD card is quite hard to put in and take out, again because of the flap, but then-again you can just as easily transfer files through the USB port.Weighing the Pros agains the Cons, the Cons really don't compare, and are honestly more of an inconvenience than a real draw-back. I would recommend this tablet over an iPad simply because you can extend its memory, and honestly in the world as we know it now, that is a HUGE drawback, and is just becoming a way to scam people out of money. This is an amazing tablet and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. I hope this review helps.

Best New Tablet of 2013
I have a PS3 and PS4 so thought this was a better option than an Ipad.I'm used the the ipad functionality, which is slightly different than the Xperia so initially found the experience frustrating. This quickly resolved itself as the device is relatively intuitive and massively customizeable.Pros- Great screen with a beautiful picture- Great apps pretty much the same as the Ipad- Responsive- Great looking- Runs Netflix- All sorts of Iplayers- Remembers different wifi networks for those on the move- Loud sound for something so thin- IR universal remote that pairs with almost all media devices, except the PS3 or PS4 annoyingly. A screen version of this alone would cost almost £200- Battery lasts for a good length of time, about 8 hrs- Waterproof and have used it in the bath with no worries- Supports Kindle perfectly- If you register through the Xperia Privalege app, before 31 Dec 2013, you get 6 free downloadable films through video unlimited (Total Recall 2012, Superbad, The Amazing Spiderman, Django Unchained, Easy A and on 26th Dec Elysium) - You also get ten free games, but I haven't worked out where to get them. You also get a 60 day free trial to Music Unlimited. This PACKAGE is worth £100 alone- You can upload all your MP4, AVI and WMV films and MP3 music- The SD allows micro SD card up to 64GB so you can expand the memory very significantly.- Firefox and Chrome browser- I can stream movies and TV Shows on a number of unofficial websites which you can't on an ipadCons- No lovefilm App- attracts lots of fingerprints but once the screen is lit and it's in a case its not a problem- Takes ages to charge up to 5hrs- Small hands could struggle with the size. for me this is not an issue.- Does not pair with my PS3 or PS4 which is ridiculous.- Walkman app that registers music uploaded to the device is a pain as it doesn't sort by genre meaning you have to create play lists. I have uploaded almost 1000 songs so this will take ages.- No flash for websites which the android and ios programmers really need to sort out. This is a great device for films, music, browsing the web and for those on the move. The Infa Red remote option is also great for those who lose controllers all the time. Being able to watch films or TV in the bath without worry is also lush. Just make sure you close the rubberized ports first.I haven't used the camera but hear it's average. I have a good camera anyway so this doesn't matter at all to me.All in all this is one of the best purchases I have made in ages and will be useful and fun for ages. From now on, on flights, I'll use this for films instead of the PS Vita.
