Great product
We've had a Blendtec blender for many years and these usually last a long time. Have used this new one several times and works well. I prefer the old style of lids, but this works too.

Better than original
I bought this as a replacement jar because the one that came with the unit was leaking badly after a couple of years use. This jar is superior to the original one in many ways. It has a better gasket on the bottom and the top lip is rounded not sharp. It did come with a very inferior lid, but I had kept my original lid which fit just fine.

Improved design - More quiet
My original Blendtec jar started to fail (the blades would not turn smoothly making the motor to work too hard - overheat potentially). Despite using some oil to lubricate the mechanism it didn’t last long; I believe the gasket seals wore out and were leaking water. Bottom line, the new one is an improved design and the best suprise noticeably quieter than the old jar. I don’t know why but it is. Like others suggested - keep your old jar top it is better than the new one - better seal and has the removable feeder top for adding to the blender without removing the primary top. Biggest drawback is the high cost, seems excessive but it is good quality. Happy I got it - the base/motor going strong after several years of use.

Lid is a FAIL. Can't use the jar without the lid. NOT worth $100
The jar is beautiful; just what I'd expect from Blendtek. High quality.The lid is a piece of junk. I don't care that it's soft rubber. I do care that the first time I tried to use it on my BlendTek, liquid from the jar shot out everywhere (Note: I had my hand on the lid and was holding it down the entire time and the liquid still shot out, there is NO SEAL). Then, there was suction from the blender that somehow sucked the lid into the jar. You heard me... the entire lid collapsed inwards with the change in air pressure and got sucked into the jar.This is completely unusable and really disappointing for a $100 purchase. Are they even trying for any semblance of quality anymore? Already filed for return.
