Review: Best non-sticky hydrating gloss, lasting stain, very little feathering on mature skin - Instant favorite, I want to put this on all the time! I usually dislike lipgloss, and bought this because I wanted a stain that didn't feel as dry as some do. But the gloss is also fantastic -- it doesn't have that sticky feel, it doesn't attract hair, and it feels so incredibly hydrating from the minute I put it on. It does very slightly feather into my vertical wrinkles around my mouth (they are fairly deep, since I'm nearly fifty and smoked most of my life), but nothing near as much as other glossy lipsticks and glosses, and I have to really examine myself up close to even notice. If I wipe off the gloss after ten minutes to just wear the stain, it doesn't look like it went into those lines at all. The stain lasts me about 8 hours (depending on what I eat -- greasy things will ofc remove it faster), but I honestly want to reapply the gloss at that point anyway. It also comes off evenly -- I haven't had the issue of color staying bright and solid all around my lips, but being gone in the middle. The smell (and taste) is similar to coconut oil -- faint coconut, and very "natural" -- not the cloying fake coconut smell you get in some cosmetics. With its being so hydrating (I feel it work better than most of my lip care products, including the famous LaNeige lip sleeping mask -- and yeah, I tried putting it on before bed, and the glossy look and hydrating feeling were still there the next morning), and so versatile, I think this is about the best value for your money you can get. Small downside: the color swatches don't feel super accurate -- even those where they show all colors on different skin tones. I have pale olive skin, and my lips aren't very naturally colored, so any stain definitely shows up bright, and that's fine, but a red lip isn't always the best choice for a daytime look, so I wish the name and the swatches would be a little more accurate. But it still works the same, slightly less pigment. Almost like oil on water separation. Other than that I would still purchase it but it was odd I’m impressed; an affordable lipstick that fades nicely and doesn’t smell overly artificial and sweet. It lasted only a couple hours before fading, leaving my lip slightly unevenly coated when it did fade. However, I used bubblegum shade so it wasn’t noticeable. If it were a darker shade it might not be as flattering. The scent is very light. Only the faintness of coconut. It also was not sticky and instead felt like a nice lip balm on. It wasn’t too glossy either. I don’t think this lighter shade stained as much as I thought.
