My son is ROUGH on his boots - stomping and wading through puddles, lakes, and streams, running through dirt, mud, you name it. He's an adventurer at heart, and it's important that his boots be up to the challenge. He's also particular about the fit of his boots and footwear, so it should say that much more when I share that he's on his second pair of these, he likes them THAT much.These boots are true to size, waterproof (to a point - i.e., if you wade to the laces or past the top of the boot, your feet WILL get wet), comfortable (from what I hear from my son), and durable.They also don't seem to smell too much after heavy use – unless of course, the insides get wet. If that happens, your best bet is to drain the excess water immediately and then get them on a boot dryer ASAP. While it won't completely eliminate the risk of odor, it greatly reduces it (believe me!).Since they're leather, the tops do run the risk of shrinking up just a bit while drying (like any other leather item), but the soles are very well made and help maintain the shape of the boot, thereby not affecting the size enough to be an issue.I should note that the traction on the soles of these boots seems to be fantastic too, even in slippery and wet conditions and on logs and rocks.All in all, these boots are the full package and deliver the same great results that other much pricier options offer. I highly recommend!

I walk a lot at work, 10-12 miles. These boots will last a year, well made. They are very comfortable, great value. This is my third pair.

I really enjoy these boots every time I wear them. They are comfortable, lightweight and look very nice with all my cargo pants. Recommend!

This is my second pair of Free Soldier boots. My first pair is for work as a fire inspector/fire investigator. The other pair is for hiking. Both pairs fit true to size and are super comfortable. Doesn't take long to break in. Get yourself a pair of these boots!

This is my second pair of these boots. The first pair lasted me about 8 months. This pair i just received less than a week ago and noticed the lace eyelet has shifted and has a sharp edge exposed which is starting to shred the laces in one of the boots. I'm hoping this is just a fluke and luckily I'm still within my return period. Freesoldier states they carry a 6 month warranty but give you no way of contacting them through Amazon for warranty related concerns.

So this is my second time purchasing a set of Free Soldier Boots, my last pair are the first boots I've ever bought that have made it near through a full work year, so I bought another pair recently.Let me tell you this set of boots I just got were some of the most COMFORTABLE boots, I have ever worn.I had no struggle getting them on or off, I didn't need to break them in. The only spot that I have had any issue so far wearing them has been on my right Pinky Toe, that foot is slightly bigger, so I get some very minor rubbing on it.I highly recommend these so far, but I may update my review if anything out of the ordinary happens in the following months as my last pair lasted just around 8 Months of Major Laborious Use. At the moment, with these boots being brand new, they are perfect.

The boots at the retail store and the ones "military-rated/brand" were easily $100+, so I took a gamble.I gave one star for the shoe because it was AFFORDABLE!This shoe earned another star due to its QUICK and TIMELY delivery.Another two stars came from the fact that I slid my foot in the shoe and the cushion didn't hurt my arches and I didn't need to break in the shoes at all!!Finally, this product is advertised as waterproof. Usually, that means it's splashproof, but I was hiking off-trail mountains (thank God for the traction) and crossing damp mud, wet rocks, and sometimes even stepping in puddles. The water did not penetrate my socks except for when I stood in a river for several moments and I think the majority of it soaking my socks was from my pants dripping.Con: The ankle part did sometimes dig in, but I am extremely bony and it didn't happen often.TLDR: comfortable, lightweight, waterproof hiking boots with great traction and grip, better than advertised.

These are my second pair I love them they are awesome nice and light and fit perfect right out of the box that's why a bought a second pair. My first ones wore them for almost a year before I wore the inner heal out but I'm still using them as we speak. I've bought more expensive boots in the past that did not last like these.

Seem well built and quality compared to the hundred or more others I looked at. I’ve only warn once so time will tell. Will update if I have any issues to share.

The boot fits good. It's waterproof. However it looks like the pair they sent were worn previously. Laces were knotted and treads dirty.Beware the seller!
