"Memoirs of My Years with IBM 1951-1986"
IBM is a unique global company celebrating its 100th anniversary in June 2011. Only few top executives wrote a book about their life in and with IBM: Charles R. Flint 1923, Thomas Watson Sr. in 1934, Buck Rodgers in 1986, Jacques Maisonrouge in 1988, Thomas Watson Jr. in 1990, Ruth Leach Amonette in 1999, Lou Gerstner in 2002, Linda Sanford in 2006 and Gordon R. Williamson in 2008.Mr. Williamson born in 1927 presents his "Memoirs of My Years with IBM 1951-1986" as anectdotes in 80 chapters on a total of 767 pages. Compared to Marcel Proust's "A la recherche du temps perdu" with more than 4000 pages - depending on the edition - Mr. Williamsons is an easy read full of interesting, exciting, humorous, funny, entertaining and valuable stories told by a man who appears to have not only been a successful executive but also a true master of life management . He had the ability to balance his corporate duties with a wonderful family life despite travelling almost permanently across the five continents: "Once I left IBM field sales in March 1956, approximately half of my working days [and nights] were spent on trips away from home. Although there are no records to verify it, I am convinced that I travelled as much or more during my career than did any other IBM employee during the 35+years of my employment." As a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.

Written by my Dad :) Interesting stories of IBM as it grew and spread worldwide
This book was written by my Daddy... so it will be biased... but this is a wonderful resource for reading about global corporate relations.... the way the world worked back then.

I know the author of this book, and I think he did a very credible job of recounting the many experiences he had with the Company.
