Looking for American made for new puppy! He loved them. Perfect size ( he will be a 45-60lb dog full grown) for 20 lb dog now. The packaging is appealing and easy to open. My puppy knew immediately they were for him. It didn’t give him upset stomach or diarrhea. It did pacify him to keep him chewing to get rid of baby teeth. Will buy again!

These are expensive, but if you have ever paid for a root canal on your young dog it wouldn’t seem so bad. My small dog had been chewing on tiny rawhide sticks & they were so hard it caused a broken tooth in an important area of her mouth. The veterinary dentist (yes, there is such a specialty) recommended Tartar Shield. Said dog is now 12.5 with no more broken teeth from chewing. AND, she loves them!

These "treats" were a great disappointment! To begin, note that they are pretty darn expensive but they are inedible by my dog. She sniffs them once and then refuses them. I tried them on her several times over four days including when I knew she was hungry - absolutely no interest. Also, the description is "soft rawhide chews" but they are NOT soft. Their texture is quite hard - definitely not a chew, they are a crunch. I was rather annoyed by all of this. I actually tried to bite one myself but couldn't since they are so hard I was afraid I might hurt my teeth. This is a terrible product that is misrepresented on the site. I tried to return them but returns are not accepted. To their credit though, Amazon agreed to return my money anyway. So I will keep buying from Amazon but I will never buy Tartar Sheild products again.

While I understand the importance of investing in my pet's health, the cost of these treats feels a bit excessive, especially considering they're consumed relatively quickly.Additionally, while they are Vet VOHC approved, I couldn't shake off the feeling that there might be more affordable options out there that offer similar benefits. It's a tough call because I do want to prioritize my dog's dental health, but I also need to consider my budget.In conclusion, Tartar Shield Soft Rawhide Chews are effective dental treats that my dog enjoys, and I appreciate the vet recommendation. However, the high price point makes it difficult for me to wholeheartedly recommend them, especially when considering more cost-effective alternatives.
