I love this, sleek, worked really well. Pretty durable so far, upload right from my phone with usb-c to usb-c connection. Nice having universal cords. Seemed quick, for the amount of pictures I transferred

I ordered the 6TB 20th Anniversary Emerald Edition drive in September and have been using it ever since. I have owned several WD Passport HDDs and have never been disappointed in their performance. I feel certain that as capacities continue to increase, I'll end up buying more in years to come. In spite of my overwhelmingly positive opinion about this HDD, there is one design issue that I find absolutely baffling. The LED is on the same end of the drive as the USB-C jack where the data cable is inserted. To my way of thinking, this is backwards- the data port should be on the rear of the unit and the LED should be on the OPPOSITE end. Having both the LED and USB-C port on the same end means that to have the unit positioned so the LED is visible, you have a cable sticking out and projecting toward you. It's helpful for a number of reasons for any HDD to have an LED- I believe it is an important and necessary design feature. But to see it, you have a cable projecting toward you...this is the nuttiest design I have ever seen and I don't know how it ever entered production with such an awkward feature.

I made a clone of my iMac on a 2 TB SSD. this 6 TB passport Ultra backs it up with Time Machine perfectly. the first backup took a little time but then it works in the background just fine. backups are quick and you won’t notice until you need it.

I bought this device last year after realizing that my other passport device was running low on storage . I have used it once after receiving to upload some vacay photos and since that I have been having issues. When plugged into my computer(work and home) it cannot be found and an error message pops up saying that the device malfunctioned and windows didn’t recognize it. I am now worried as to whether I can retrieve my family photos that were uploaded. Poor quality… very disappointed.!!!!!!!

Pros: It looks very cool! Looks like a red envelop for Lunar New Year!!! Cons: Low capacity Req high power (cannot use hub or it cranks) Overall: WDC are you joking me???? 2TB USD drive, this is year 2024, not 2012!!!! I rather pay $150 for a 2024 Year of Dragon in 5TB than $85 for a 2TB! I replaced my 1TB with this 2TB for home docs lol, think back my NAS I got 4TB on each bay that were purchased in 2017! 2024 with 2TB hard drive........... a joke of the year, but I rated you 5 stars because it just look super cool!

I didn't need a portable hard drive, but this one had the red dragon paint job. I assume this one will work like other portable drives. The package came with the drive and a short USB-C to USB-A cable The paint job looks well done and the dragon shows a lot of detail, but I feel it may rub off over time especially if you throw it in your bag or backpack without a case.

Failed and can't access data anymore

Jag formaterade om den till NTFS eftersom den var formaterad exFAT och det inte är lika snabbt för stora filer (som jag ska använda den till) och exFAT har inte heller har "inbyggt skydd" mot korrupta filer vilket NTFS . Bra med adapter för USB 3 till sladden. Enda minuset är att deras (WD) kablar kunde varit lite längre än de är. 10 cm till eller nåt...

Uno de los pocos discos duros de este tipo que hay de 6Gb. El tamaño de la unidad es estandard, aunque un poco más grueso que mi anterior Toshiba. La velocidad es la esperada para un disco rotativo. Incluye una licencia de 5 años para hacer imagenes completas de otros discos duros. No incluye un manual de uso, pero lo primero que tienes que hacer para disfrutar de sus ventajas de seguridad es instalar un archivo que viene dentro al abrirlo por primera vez. Este programa te permite gestionar la contraseña, bloquear la unidad e instalar otras aplicaciones, incluso puedes desactivar el led exterior. Una vez tienes el discoduro bloqueado, lo que pasará es que cuando lo conectes no podrás ver su contenido, en cambio, te dejará ver un programa ejecutable para que introduzcas la contraseña de desbloqueo, aunque si ya tienes el programa instalado en el ordenador no te hará falta ejecutarlo. En general el disco es silencioso pero si quieres que lo sea aun más puedes ponerlo sobre una almoadilla de ratón o similar para que no se transmita la vibración al escritorio. Esta edición especial tiene un embellecedor de aluminio en la parte superior. El resto es plástico que se ve un poco barato, pero creo que es lo mejor porque el aluminio se raya con facilidad, de hecho me planteo ponerle algun tipo de cobertura protectora al aluminio. Producto recomendado.

So far, this WD portable storage is perfect for my needs. No problem !!
