Best pick axe for the money I could find.
Outstanding pick axe. The weight and balance are just right for me. As an older guy I appreciate a tool that does most of the work itself with the proper "guidance".

Very Nice, Good Weight, Sharp Blade
I’m intrigued with the fiberglass handle on this pick axe - the wooden handle on my current pick axe is starting to splinter. Since the quality of the handle pretty much defines the utility of the pick, I’m hoping the fiberglass handle will last longer. The bright orange color is a benefit on a farm and the length works for both me and my husband’s taller stance. I had some question about the working blade slipping, but that hasn’t happened. It arrived in a plastic sleeve with the working blade wrapped in heavy duty cardboard. It was a breeze to assemble, just slide the blade on and tap firmly to settle into place. I already have a mattock with this sort of assembly, so it was intuitive. The fiberglass handle has a defined surface on the grip area.We live in a rural area with lots of rocks and a clay pack that turns to stone when it dries out. This tool works a treat. The sharp end helps with reclaiming land from small saplings and blackberry bushes that spring up everywhere. Cutting through those roots with a hoe is exhausting. The weight and cutting edge on this tool works much better. The pick works when you need to get under and pry up larger rocks.I’m very happy with this pick and expect it will last a good long time.

High-Quality Materials manganese steel, and fiberglass handle.
The VNIMTI “Pick Axe for Digging, Heavy Duty Pickaxe with Shock Absorbing Handle, 36 Inches” is a great tool. After breaking several wooden handles, I prefer a non-wooden handle. This handle seems to be sturdy enough for my wild side. As with all other pick axes, the handle wedges into the end of the handle. This fit snuggly after I slammed it down on the concrete several times. It has a good weight to it and feels sturdy in my hands. I have not wrestled with any roots to test the handle, which is how I broke the handles in the past.

Good quality pick axe appropriately priced.
This is a good quality pick axe appropriately priced. The head appears well made and is strong. The synthetic fiberglass handle is strong and should survive abuse better than a traditional wood handle. My background is in farming and ranching, mining both surface and underground, along with wildland firefighting. I take quality tools seriously and can break sub-standard tools with the best of them.I'm satisfied with this pick axe. I've used it and others like it for many years. This style of tool is very handy when breaking into hard ground including rocks, dry clays, and roots. To those concerned with the head potentially coming loose...don't be. The natural forces during use will continue to tighten the head to the handle to the point you won't be able to get it off even it you try.

Good Quality Tool
We picked this up to work on our vegetable garden beds, and it's been a great help.We started prepping our garden beds for spring planting, and it seems like the older we get the more we need specialized tools to get the work done. This pick axe was a great took for trimming up the edges and turning the soil, making quick work of each bed (with a little break in between, lol).Solid build that will easily last for years.

Wow
Wow, this VNIMTI Pickaxe with fiberglass handle really did great at absorbing the sudden shock of me whacking into a large tree root today. I have a huge bamboo root removal project ahead and those suckers love to bury themselves under rocks and big roots. There are so many aspects of this digging tool that I like: (1) the back saving non-slip fiberglass handle is long enough so I don't have to bend over to use it, and I can get a high enough swing downward that it practically does its' own digging (2) the axe head is heavier, longer, and the blade part is wider and sharper than my old pickaxes. This aspect makes for more leverage against a buried root or rock. I literally was able to dislodge roots in a much shorter time than I was used to before. (3) the orange color will also stand out in the yard to keep me from misplacing it. (4) And the final big surprise to me, is how well this handle absorbs shocks.I initially was concerned that the axe head would slip back down the handle and hit my hand while raised up in the air. Well it is so secure,(I guess by the flared shape and friction between the handle and the metal) that even with applied pressure I couldn't get the axe part to slide back down the inverted handle. Also, the wider 3.4" sharp bIade is good for chopping roots and scaping dirt. I highly recommend this tool.
