So far, so good.
Reviewing: Rust Converter Paint - 16oz Water-Based Rust Reformer & Metal Primer, Semi-Gloss Black Rust Preventive Paint for Metal, Anti-Rust Coating Rust Encapsulator Paint for Maximum Rust, Corrosion Protection I'm in the process of rebuilding a large antique backhoe loader, and used this to stop the rust primarily in the cab, but on some spots outside the cab as well. I couldn't find a drying time anywhere on the package or the listing, so I reached out to the seller, and got a reply within 12 hours or so*. Based on their answer, I had just enough time to use the converter paint and let it dry before it started raining for 48 hours straight (it is a water-based paint, so their accuracy would be critical). As it turned out,it was fully cured within their time frame, and the rain had no ill affect on my work.*FYI: The full cure time is 24 hours. I wanted to be able to work it into the pitted surfaces, so I applied it with a brush vs spraying it. Even after diluting it with water to their maximum recommendation (10%) it was pretty thick. Other similar products allow for a 20% dilution, so I figured I'd try it out. I'm glad I did - after adding ≈20% water I had just barely enough in this size container to do one coat on the inside of the cab, with a little left to cover the worst spots on the outside. The surfaces I was painting were a mixture of badly rusted and unrusted (but well-tarnished) steel, with patches of the original yellow painted steel without any rust. As expected, the product immediately went to work on the rusted areas leaving a uniform black coating. Surprisingly, it worked just as well on the tarnished but unrusted areas. As expected however, it did little more than leave a thin protective film of streaked black over the (yellow) painted surfaces. I'm sure if I was spraying it it would have had a more uniform surface. Anyway, like clockwork, it started pouring rain just as the drying window ended, and you know how that turned out. So far I am happy with how well this seems to have worked. Only time will tell how well it holds up. In order to get the most information out of one application, I left some surfaces uncovered, some I painted over with Rust-Oleum, and a couple of others I covered with a layer of epoxy. If it starts rusting through in any of these areas within the next year or two I'll come back and update this review.Application date was 11/22/2024.

Arrived in great condition. To windy to get on the roof.
I'm going to paint some very old and rusty roof vents n but it's too cold and windy. It may have to wait for spring. In the meantime I test painted a swipe of this on a piece of scrap metal. It is easy to apply, cleanup-washes with water while still wet. I read up on the ingredients also. This is enough to put 2 coats as recommended, on 15 square ft. So I should be able to do all 5 roof vents.

Heavy duty.
I used this awesome strong formula in all my metal made shelves, chairs, basins and a small roof shelter and it is absolutely easy to paint them with the brush included with it.It comes in a pouch in a liquid with some gloves and it is recommended to spray it but i preferred to use the brush as it is easy for me to paint them with 2 applications to prevent corrosion and rust.It can be diluted with some water for easy application. This preventive anti-corrosion water based paint can be very versatile in all metal made product.I even used it to paint my metal round raised bed and it is now protected from any oxidation due to the elements of nature.A very effective and durable formula.

Make rusty stuff a thing of the past
I ordered the DecorRom Rust Converter Paint for several small projects around the house and a couple tiny ones with the car. Though a small tub ( 16 oz) should be enough for the tiny projects I have scheduled. Very excited to see if this could actually cover any rust and adhere for a longtime with a new look.Shipped fast, well packaged. Paint set includes rust paint, short brush and some gloves.Would recommend to help convert rusty stuff into a nice new look.

Mostly good.
The converter/primer/paint covered the surface rust but not completely with only one coat. Time will tell if it keeps the rust away in our high humidity climate. If it does, I'll have to rate it at five stars.

Rust converter
Easy to use container of rust converter primer. The primer comes in a black finish for use on dark metals. The converter coats and stabilizes existing rust while preventing further surface rusting. The converter is suitable for use with all topcoats.
