Not just for the kiddos.
My grandson is in love with Nemo, so I got this for him, and he really thinks it is Nemo. It's well made and easy to assemble. Perfect nightlight for a child's room. It honestly looks like real fish. It's also the perfect size for a little ones "aquarium." I loved it so much I bought one for myself. I highly recommend this little piece of love.

2 year old son loves this!
This product was smaller than I expected, but that's on me for not paying attention to the dimensions when I ordered it.It's still a nice toy, and my 2 year old son loves it. We had been talking about getting him a real fish tank because of how excited he gets when he sees live fish, but ugh, the maintenance. He's not old enough to clean an aquarium yet, and I knew that despite what his dad claimed, that task would fall on my shoulders more often than not. 😊My toddler doesn't seem to notice the difference between this and a live aquarium, and it doubles as a soothing night light. The instructions recommend using distilled water, and of course I totally ignored that. The first time I filled this up I did it directly from our filtered tap, but the oxygenation bubbles (at least I believe that was the problem) kept the fish from swimming. Or maybe they were just feeling lazy, but either way they just congregated in an upper corner of the tank.So i dumped the water out with the intention of buying some distilled water to try again. After returning home the next day from the store sans distilled water because I forgot, I spotted an old bottle of spring water that has been on the counter for who knows how long. I dumped it into the tank to give it a shot, and noticed all the oxygen bubbles that were present after filling the tank from the tap weren't there. It wasn't enough to fill the tank completely, so i put more filtered water in the bottle and let it sit for an hour or so, then filled the rest of the tank. I let it sit for a while and then followed the directions to get the fish swimming again, and voila! Magic. As soon as my son saw the fish in action, his face lit up and he got really excited.A great buy for anyone who is looking for the soothing effect of a fish tank without any of the feeding, cleaning, maintenance and dead fish that accompany a real one. This product does come in different sizes, so check the specs before ordering, and if you are having trouble getting it to work, follow the directions, use distilled water, or try letting the water sit until you don't see any tiny bubbles clinging to the sides before adding fish detergent and fish.

Didn't work
Now I understand why there were so many used ones in stock. Mine didn't work at all, even after putting in batteries and using the wire provided to plug it in. Honestly it's not worth the price at all. It's really small as well.Plus I know it's a safety feature to have it shut off automatically after 4 hours, but I was hoping it would stay on as long as it was plugged in. We bought this to keep our cat occupied while we're away between times where someone comes to feed him. Doesn't serve much of a purpose for us, but some might like that it shuts off after a while. Also it's super easy for water to get into the board where the LEDs are soldered into it, not a great design tbh.

Excellent! Bravo!
I thought this little aquarium would be a cute way to jazz up my otherwise boring office and I was right. I didn't want real fish because I didn't want to be responsible for cleaning the tank and frankly, because I've always thought really small fish tanks (a gallon or less) were hard to keep and not really a healthy environment for fish. However my little plastic fish seem to enjoy their little world as they swim about. This little office doodad gets lots of attention and it's a great conversation starter. The fish swim around using the motion of the motor-blown water. It's incredibly silent and the only sounds I ever hear is the occasional 'clink' of one of the plastic fish as it bangs against the side of the tank. However, it's not very loud and you probably won't notice it in an average office environment or bedroom. The fish are moderately detailed and their tails are hinged to simulate swimming, though I've never actually seem the tails move. The 3 LED lights and the decorative backsplash are nice touches that make the aquarium seem more realistic. One thing to note is that the listed dimensions are wrong. The correct dimensions are 7L by 4H by 2.5D, which is considerably smaller than the description states. I have no idea why they exaggerate as the product is nice and should sell on its own merits. I want to emphasize that this is not your average cheap Chinese-made toy. The plastic is thick, the edges are smooth and the motor runs very quietly. I bought two of them and both were excellently made; right down to the three included fish.Try to resist the temptation of setting up this aquarium without reading the directions or you'll find yourself cursing like a wounded pirate because the aquarium doesn't work (I'm speaking from first-hand experience here). If you set it up correctly per the directions, you'll soon be enjoying this awesome little 'toy.' You may even find yourself naming your fish like I did. LOL. These make great gifts and I highly recommend to anyone who wishes to jazz up their office or cubicle.

read size!
priced to high for the size and wish that there wasnt a 4 hour auto shutoff. we leave it plugged in for the cat but the fish quit swimming after 4 hrs. There should be a button for continual swimming as well as a 4 hour auto shutoff. but overall it is kinda cute and the cat likes it.
