Seiko Prospex Solar Diver Mens Watch SNE499

The watch delivery was on schedule and fast. There were no visual issues with the watch. All tick marks line up to the bezel and with the second hand sweep. The watch fits very comfortable with it's blue silicone (not black rubber) strap. I haven't gone scuba diving with it yet. I like the crown being offset. When you bend your wrist, the crown isn't in the way like most watches. Good to have the bezel turn one way. No accidental bumps will turn it the wrong way. If your a diver, you'll know what I mean. The Lumbrite Hands, Markers and Bezel in the red area glow nicely bright. Great at a glance to know your no decompression limits. (100 ft. is 15 minutes). The price on Amazon had it listed at a very good discount price (44%) from the retail price. If your a Seiko watch user, you'll like this watch added to your collection. I wish the watch had a sapphire crystal, other than that, I would recommend this watch.

It’s an excellent watch, with the Seiko rubber standard strap, it has a Wonderful feel on the wrist, it’s a Beautiful Watch. I’m an automatic movement guy, just because, but let’s be honest, as for time accuracy a Quartz or solar do a much better job. At 43.8mm (Let’s call it 44mm), it fits perfectly around my 7’ wrist, & doesn’t appear like a 44, even with the Shroud. It’s definitely a sport watch, you’re not wearing this at a board meeting, unless You’re referring to a Surfboard. I replaced the blue Shroud with a Stainless Steel one from Yobokies, and I love the watch even more, if you’re on the fence, don’t be, I picked mine up for $227, I thought it was a great price. It’s a watch that just sits on my dresser, Not in any of my watch boxes, why.....because it’s my go to watch, Period

This watch is a great value! It's a solid dive watch with 200m WR, has a stainless steel case, a comfortable silicone band, a very nice looking dial, and great lume - all for a pretty low price. This watch has impressed me with what you get for the money. Even though the bezel shroud is plastic, that is not obvious by looking at it or even by touching it. The red "Pepsi" bezel gives it a sporty look, and it even has two-color lume! The bezel action is good, and the second hand hits the center of all the markers. I really like it! It joins another solar Tuna I recently got, as well as my SBBN031 Marinemaster.

This is a good looking and really nice watch. But it is blue not black. The only gripe I have with it now that I have owned and worn it for several months is the stap tends to work free of the keeper loop and is anoying when it hangs loose. It might be able to stay tighter under water but I can't verify that yet.

Good sturdy watch. The solar charge is simple and idiot proof, no messy opening watch case. Keeps great time, has not lost a second in the 2 weeks i have had the watch. I always buy dive watches as i never take them off for anything, shower included. I work in the medical trade and am constantly washing hands between patient interactions, waterproof to 200m is another example of idiot proof. I believe in the KISS mnemonic ' keep it simple stupid'. This watch lives up to the 'simple'.I put a blue perlon strap from Crown & Buckle on the watch, i find the cloth perlon more appropriate for my use. Go ahead and buy one, no disappointment will be appreciated. SW

This watch looks really nice. Comfortable band. Illum is incredible.Second hand has not moved a tick since I got it. Took it out in direct sunlight for ten minutes when I first opened the box. NOTHING. Left it under a lamp overnight. NOTHING. Back out in the sunlight again today. NOTHING.Amazon shipped this with NO packing material. Just the Seiko box inside their standard shoe box size box. No damage to the Seiko box but my new watch is DOA.I have submitted a request for a exchange. Hopefully the next one will work.

I have had the watch for a few weeks and wear it every day. I like the weight although it may well be lighter than my other Tuna, and the color scheme of the face is very attractive. It is a solar powered watch which is important to me because I find that automatic watches stop operating overnight. That may or may not be a problem to others.Love the watch and expect many years of problem free use.I have now had the watch for several months, and am pleased to add that the is very accurate. From the initial setting the time is right on accurate.

Very nice watch, great value. Fast delivery. Great seller. Its a solar powered watch, there is no need to wind the watch, just give it some light and its ready to go. The second's hand hits each marker perfectly. I have another seiko solar tuna in dark blue stealth dive bezel, the second's hand misses the minte marker by a little bit, not really noticeable, but you know its there. The triangle marker on the dive bezel hits the 12 o'clock marker perfectly. Overall a great beater sports watch. This is my third watch I have bought from amazon. Will buy again from amazon.

A cool homage to the tunas, the 47mm case size wears just fine on my 6.75" wrist and I have recieved many compliments on it. The PADI special edition lume was definitely a major selling feature for me with the blue/green and the red minute hand. The wave pattern dial also adds extra character to the watch. I have to say the bezel insert texture was definitely more of a matte finish in person than I thought itd be but still looks great, although, something to keep in mind. This watch in comparison to other Seiko divers such as the SKX series, Sumos, Monsters, etc isn't quite the same feel as far as weight since it doesnt have the same large full steel case. The quartz movement coupled with the plastic bezel insert allow the watch to be a lighter weight than the traditional divers. The new Seiko silicone straps are excellent and of very high quality and are very comfortable. I was originally planning on replacing the factory strap with a nato or zulu strap but have not done so since I'm so impressed with the strap and in my opinion, makes the watch complete (where other Seikos straps/bracelets leave something to be desired in that department). Overall a great quartz diver that's solar powered and more or less maintenance free. The watch was set 19 days ago and has gained 5 seconds since then, well within spec of the V157 movement and my expectations. The quartz movement makes this a very nice "grab and go" watch as 90% of my other watches are mechanical autos and need to be set before heading out in the morning. I think what couldve made this a truly perfect watch is if Seiko had instead opted to put in a Kinetic movement. As far as the alignment and fit and finish of the watch the hour markers all line up properly but I must say that the second hand on mine is nearly 1/3 of the marker behind where it's supposed to be on the marker. A slight disappointment but something I could live with as the dial marker alignment is more important for me and the second hand is in fact something which could be corrected in the future. I was able to get mine for $325 Cad and I would say I'm quite pleased with the watch.

Firstly I have 4 Seikos in my collection..Including a Monster and a Turtle that are absolutely outstanding..So when I purchased the Tuna my expectations were very high... When I received it, I was stunned as to how cheap the fit and finish were so much plastic in its construction....Pulling out the crown I was shocked as to how it wobbled back and forth apparently a common problem...I thought for sure the crown was just going to break off....Decided to give it a trial run , but it just was so cheap and shoddy looking in comparison to my other Seiko’s that I decided to return it as quickly as possible....sorely disappointed in this Seiko model...In its place after much research I purchased the Neymar Professional Diver on Amazon ....almost the same pricing between the two Timepiece’s...But oh my what difference in fit and finish, quality and features..Neymar use the tried and true Seiko NH35A automatic movement ..Tuna use a solar quartz...Seiko pleasere-design and re-engineer the Tuna....
