I love it.
Bought to replace an old one my mum gave me. I love it. Perfect for stews as you can fry the meat in the bowl first. I use the rice function lots as it’s always perfect how I like it. The yoghurt function is very successful. Only 100g plain yoghurt and a carton of uht milk makes a huge batch of yoghurt in 8 hours and it’s very good. I have proved dough in it too. Very versatile.

Slow Cooking setting isn't really slow cooking (in my opinion)
I like to cook things low and slow - and My previous Slow Cooker which I've had for at least 15 years before its demise, did just that. Wonderfully flavoursome meals I can set in the morning and when I come home, its ready to eat. Nice 8hr cook to produce that tender meat.So after said "demise" of my old cooker, I set out to purchase a new one - and this little "all-in-one" came up.I did some research, and it seemed it tickle all the spots I would have expected. So I got it.I've cooked rice and pasta, and a small curry, its all good and does what it says on the can... except slow cooking...The slow cooking setting, starts at 85º and at 3hrs <- That's the "low" setting... 3hrs..??You cannot adjust the temperature, but temperature is ok for slow cooking... but 3 hrs?Luckily you can increase the hrs, but you need to do this every time. I think the setting would have benefitted to being at least 6hrs default. You can use the DIY function to adjust time and temp - which is still a bit fiddly and locked behind some rules feature in its programming - for example, any temp over 100º and you can only set max of 4hrs.Overall, its a good device, you can brown mince or seal meat using the SAUTE function for 10min, which saves on using an extra pot for sealing before slow cooking - but if you are like me and are going to purchase this specifically with slow cooking in mind, then be aware that you have to adjust the time yourself and you cannot change the temperature of the slow cook function - its better to use the DIY function for true Slow Cooking.Cleaning is a bit fiddly as you have to start pulling stuff apart, but when you get a flow for it you can do it quite quickly.

Very modern, and it works!
I have been considering buying a slow cooker for quite a while, and never got round to it. Then, I came across this more modern idea of a multi-function cooker that can cook various things with pre-programmed settings (although with most of the programmes you can adjust the temperature and/or the time). I have had the CleverChef for around a month now.The first thing I would say is that it looks smart and shiny - I got the black one - and the controls are all 'touch' controls (not buttons) that mean cleaning is easy. The removable cooking pot is non-stick and also easy to clean. The heating element is a very hi-tech looking thing - a pancake-shaped spiral of shiny metal which presumably heats very evenly across the bottom surface of the pot. The lid closes with a nice action and has a rubbery seal, with a vent in the top of the lid to let out any steam. The first thing I tried was basmati rice. You simply put the water & rice in the pot and choose the rice setting from the menu and press start. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about how good the rice would be - I like it fairly dry and fluffy. Anyway, after a while it did its thing, came up to temperature, some steam came out of the top and, when it was ready the machine went into 'keep warm' mode, The rice was perfect.Next up, we made a sausage casserole. This had a couple of steps to the cooking - first off, using the 'saute' mode to brown the sausages and onions, and then the 'stew' mode to simmer it. Again, it was simple to use and the end result was delicious. Finally, I decided to try something that you wouldn't be able to do in a slow cooker - a cake! The cooker can act as a mini-oven (although not a high-temperature one). The recipe book that comes with the machine has recipes for a carrot cake and fruit cake, but I decided just to try a standard Victoria sponge (6oz each flour, butter & sugar, 3 eggs). I wasn't sure how much time to give it, so I set it to 50 minutes, which turned out to be a bit long - the bottom was slightly overdone, but the cake was really good! The interesting thing is, because the lid keeps the moisture in, the cake stays moist while it cooks. I would even say that it was better than I usually make in my fan oven.I haven't got round to it yet, but I intend to try the recipe for pulled pork (possibly the most delicious food ever!).Overall, I think this is a great addition to our kitchen: it works really well, the instruction manual was easy to follow, and it is very simple to use.

Simply fantastic and superb value for money !
So far !!! This multi cooker I’s phenomenal!! I live alone ( so cooking for one ) and so far I have cooked a 3.5lb chicken ( crispy skin and juicy insides ) lasted me a few days ( I have still some left ??) and my latest was rib roast steak ?? Not quite sure how to work the machine ( settings??) so I just cooked the 2 steak’s on the fast roast setting. I added a little water at the start and omg the steaks were absolutely perfect ( even although I probably cooked them on wrong setting !) cooked in under 50 mins ( wrong setting by the way) but omg they were so tender, soft and tasty ! Cooked to perfection ! Once I figure out all the settings, this will be an absolute bargain !! and will replace my oven. I’m not sure how to work the pre set’s yet but I cooked a roast chicken perfectly! And omg I cooked 2 rib roast steaks to absolute perfection ( again on the wrong setting ?) imagine how the steaks will taste once I get the cook setting correct ??? Mmmh I can’t wait ! P.s this review is from a butcher !! Best £70 gbp you’ll ever spend ! And it can take volume as well for example, it will cook a big enough portion for a family of four ?? 4 steaks, a 2.5 kg chick, a large curry or casserole for more than 4 and to top it off you can cook your rice in the same machine ?? Or you can roast/steam vegetables at the same time as your stew/mince or curry ! I would definitely recommend this multi cooker. Or a similar spec machine, it truly is value for money and it truly is a superb addition to any kitchen. Cheers

More than just a pot, a friend
Some points for you to consider just it arrived : there is a smell of plastic as it is pretty new, however it is harmless. if it bothers you too much, try boiling some water with vinegar+baking soda in it. i found this approach did the trick for meUsage : i use it mainly for cooking rice, and i bought this one for the Delay timer. I usually bring rice to the office for lunch, so, i clean and prep the rice in the pot the previous night, and set a delay timer so that it starts cooking 30minutes just before I wake up. depending on the quantity you are cooking, it can be done around the time you get up, or just about finished cooking so you can do other tasks before turning it off. there is also a steam tray, so the wife uses it for steaming buns and dumplings.it also has a lovely Keep Warm function, which works quite well.i have not had the chance to use the other function, but there is a recipe book that goes with it for cooking chicken, beef, pasta, etc.cleaning this is also easy, however, i must caution against stains. as is with most rice pots, do not clean the inside with hard mesh/brush or god forbid, steel wool. it will degrade the non-stick covering. if the stains are tough, you can try "soaking" it with water and leaving it overnight. the outside and the inside must be cleaned and dried thoroughly. avoid cooking with the outside of the pot wet or having food waste sticking to it, as it will char and damage the surface.the top exhaust is removable and makes for easier clean. do not forget to check the water basin located at the back(beneath the hinge) where excess water may have overflowed.Guys,if you have old food that you want heated up by the time you wake up, you can use the DIY setting to set up duration and temp, then add a delay timer so that 8t finishes by the time your delay is up. If you set cool time to 30 mins and delay of 2 hrs,it will start heating up at 1:30 so that it finishes in time for the delay to complete. This is an amazing find for such an affordable price!!!!
