Pleased with this player despite its quirks.
I am a bit infatuated with this player, but I’ll try my best to be objective. Most of the time this device works well. I am using it mainly for viewing MP4 video on my TV through the HDMI jack with a 64g USB thumb/flash drive and when it works it works very well, with full rich audio and a vivid display. But it can be quirky too, and unfortunately support is slim to nonexistent. A few of my files would not play at all, and I have no idea why. On a few others there was a picture but no audio and for those I had to do quite a bit of trial and error experiments with the recording software I was using but after awhile I figured out what I was doing wrong. The remote control seems to have a limited range, and it apparently it uses the same frequency as my Sirius radio and turns it on too when I hit the power button. Overall, I am quite pleased with this unit, and particularly happy that I’ve found an alternative to burning DVD-R’s. It will come in very handy for travel. Recommended...if you have a slightly high tolerance for it’s idiosyncrasies.

Damn, how is it possible?
Anyone looking for a serviceable media player that loops videos without a break in-between will be as impressed as I with this unit. It worked perfect and was easy to set up. I may change my mind later if it breaks down but I tried this as a last minute effort and ordered multiple units for an art project. The units have been running for almost a week now without problem. I suspect there's not much to getting media players to do what artists want them too, at least with smaller-scale files for particular settings. Its just a matter of simplifying the interface, which this unit seems to do perfectly. It looks good too! I think the key is the remote has a repeat button that allows for looping, whereas others are built into the display interface and never function the way you want them to.The other remarkable thing is how fast this company sent these out. I ordered the first on a saturday and it arrived on sunday (wow!) and tried it again two more times with the same turnaround. The only way it could have been faster is if it was being sold by my next door neighbor and they walked it over to my apartment.Good stuff, lets hope they hold up, but at least they cost less than most main courses at a nice restaurant

Absolute garbage
Spent the better part of two days excitedly transferring video files to an external hard drive that it read perfectly... Except it doesn't play any of them. These are a variety of videos in various lengths, formats, using different codes, etc. I have no problem playing these files on my old bluray player or any other device I have used this hard drive with, but every single file with the exception of maybe three it couldn't play, without telling me why. The error message is useless, just "Can't play file". The instruction manual is written in broken and incorrect English and that should have been a red flag for me. I'm now disappointed I even gave it a chance because going through every video file on my drive and getting an error has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had with technology. DO. NOT. BOTHER.

Awesome Little Device!
Needed something we could use to stream videos and pictures to a HDMI large screen at a restaurant. Bought two of these and they worked perfectly. While I don't think I could connect an External USB drive without using the included AC adapter, I was able to power this unit using USB power from the TV while using an SD card to hold all our videos and pictures. Allowed us to run a continuous loop with our media. Simple intuitive interface with good options and easy to use remote control.

I actually like this ..
I bought this for my car that has a video theater system for the rear passengers .. it comes with the old school RCA plugs which is perfect since I don't have a HDMI port (pretty sure there is some sort of conversion adapter) .. everything works fine as advertised ..*drawbacks ..the coding for the GUI (graphic user interface)-does not the greatest imho .. I've had a similar product which had a similar user interface many years ago and it seems like all the manufacturers used the same type of coding .. these media players are typically used for older TVs that may even be flat panel but are just not "smart enough) vs the modern TV that includes everything including a decent media player built in .. so basically the menu and file system is not the greatest .. if only the manufacturers spent a little bit more time in programming ; making a shortcut to the closed captioning on and off switch, make it easier to delete files along with a few other user type improvements*upside ..these media players have shrunk down in size over the years .. the hardware seems to be pretty good in contrast to the first generation .. the remote is pretty simple to use and obviously you're not going to get a touch screen type of convenience but nonetheless it has improved over the years .. the ability to accommodate up to 8tb, I think it also comes with 64 gigs of RAM?.. nonetheless I would still recommend this product if you have a not so smart TV and you like to store physical videos/photos/music like the rest of us old dinosaurs ..lol*note to manufacture.. keep on improving.. there is definitely still a demand! 👍

Exactly what i needed
I had an upcoming conference where I needed to play a MP4 file in a continuous loop on a plain computer monitor with no laptop. The monitor has no media capabilities. I hooked up the HDMI Media Player and plugged in my USB and I had instant access to my media files on the monitor via the remote and was able to play a continuous looping video on the monitor. Extremely happy with the quality and results.

Does not play any of my .mp4 videos. Great otherwise.
The player just arrived today. I tested it out with .wmv, avi, and mp4 video files using a 128 Gb SD card. None of the mp4 files would play. An error message came up saying File can't play. Disappointed as I specifically wanted a multi-format media player and this player is advertised as being able to play mp4's. Unless there's something off with my mp4's, like a higher audio rate that it can't handle, I don't know what the issue might be. I'll still be able to use it with my other files and I can convert my mp4's to another format if I really want to.

Great for watching videos on a USBA jump drive. I Also Use it to review GoPro footage from a micro SD card. No problems at all. This thing is great.

Extremely good value, and does exactly what it advertises.
Quite small, but handy. Works with just about every media format available. Remote is easy to work with. Instruction are in clear English. It does get a bit hot, but keeps working flawlessly. Have had it running for almost 6 hours, without any glitches.
