Ruler was longer than expected, based on personal experience I thought 12 inches was a lot shorter.

This is truly an amazing device. This ruler can provide the results of a measurement in inches, half an inch, quarter inch, and an eighth of an inch. This measurement device has an impressive maximum length of 12 inches. For situations requiring the measuring of length, width or depth of lines, pieces of paper, furniture, tiles, electronic devices such as television screens dimensions, the length of human anatomy, e.g., the length of a human arm, leg or foot, as well as many other items that can this special ruler can measure. Finally, this ruler...floats. Remarkable. So, we all know the PROS. What are the CONS? Okay, the device does not provide the measurer with metric system results. It cannot measure temperature, blood pressure, nor velocity. Despite those cons, it is indeed, a super device and is something I'd buy again.

While the ruler is only 12 ³⁄₁₆” (short of the 13” advertised), it still makes for an excellent tool for my nun role play.
