Scrubba Wash Bag Patented Washboard-in-a-Bag™ 5 oz Travel Clothes Washer

Bought this in advance of a trip where packing light will be critical. The scrubba bag arrived and we tested it with 3 pairs of socks.... water got dirty, soapy and seemed to do a good job washing the socks in the pre-trip test batch. The clear window is great to see the rinse water, wash water and allow you to adjust. I did one wash ahead of the trip and have not left on the trip yet but expect this to be a really key part of my packing light. Well built, durable, good size, no leaks or smells... easy to use, good scrubbing "dots" or nubs on the inside. Great idea, good product and I would recommend.

It does what it's supposed to. I bought the Scrubba for a three week trip to Asia. Usually I bring one shirt, one pair of underwear and one pair of socks for each day of a trip. So the intent of the Scrubba was to lessen the amount of clothes I brought. This time I packed five shirts, five pair of underwear and five pair of socks for this trip, which made me do laundry every three or four days. I did have to manage things a bit, based on schedule. I couldn't wash anything unless I had two days (maybe one and a half) to allow for complete drying of cotton items. It worked. I never ran out of clean clothes during my trip. Downside? Yes. I did a lot of laundry. Get the Scrubba out. Fill. Add clothes and soap. Scrub, scrub, scrub. Then rinse. Lay clothes in a bath towel, roll up and press to get out as much water as possible. Next, hang everything somewhere to dry (near an A/C vent is good). Then repeat because the nice compact, packable size of the Scrubba means I did two loads every couple of days. Also, it means bringing a lot of little detergent packs, and I chose to bring travel hangers to hang everything. Am I glad I bought the Scrubba? Yes. It does what the manufacturer promises. Overall it saves room and weight in one's luggage (fewer clothes vs. Scrubba + soap + hangers = saves room and weight). And it saves time when compared to my buddy's one shirt at a time in the bathroom sink method. I let him try the Scrubba and, since we have returned to our respective countries, he has purchased a Scrubba. I'll bring mine with me from now on, unless I'm changing venues every day or two. The Scrubba never leaked. I hung it over the shower rod or around the shower head and it was completely dry in a few hours. It held up well to eight or ten wash cycles. It is made from a heavy gauge material that a makes one feel it will last. I'm not sure that there is actually any benefit to the little nubs. I kind of used them. And I feel pretty sure that they were the cause of some damage to an older, washable silk shirt I had with me. The Scrubba is cheaper than hotel laundry or an outside laundry service. And if I do the laundry myself, I know my clothes will be well cared for and will be cleaned as I want.

I haven’t used it yet in the field but first impressions are good. Very light. It will allow for way lighter packing of clothes for my long off grid camping trips. Seems like it might be able to double as a water proofing bag. Location of the vent limits its ability to be used as a dry compression sack though. That said, packs up nice. Cuts my clothing needs in half. I do think it’s a little pricey for what you get. Especially as I am a little concerned about the seams in spots holding up to repeated use.

I have used this wash bag on several trips. It works, but does not seem extreamely durable. Getting the bag properly sealed is difficult, but once you master that, it works pretty well. Great for t shirts, socks, underwear and that sort of thing. Don't expect bigger bulky items will work well with it. I tried to wash a pair of blue jeans with limited success. On cruises I did have great luck washing smaller items. I'm just wondering how long it will last, and there are other brands out there that cost a lot less and seem to do the job just as well. My friends had another brand that did the same thing as this one but cost a lot less. Had the price been around $35 I would of given it a higher star rating.

Cool little invention! I took this on a mountain excursion—close enough to a town, but I didn’t want to rely on a laundromat if I didn’t have to. I loved this wash bag. The instructions were clear: fill hot water to the line, add 4–6 items (depending on size), add your soap (less is more), fold down the bag, hook it closed, and let out the air. Then press the bag down and start “mushing.” I mushed for about 4 minutes, drained the dirty water, refilled with clean water, and mushed another 4 minutes before hanging my clothes to dry. Yes, it’s a bit of work, but the convenience was amazing. I’m so glad I have this for camping and hiking—highly recommend!

Have had 2 of these during my travels and never lets me down when needing to clean clothes!

Por supuesto que podrías lavar tu ropa en el lavabo del baño de un hotel... pero ¿cuántas veces te ha pasado que el tapón del lavabo no sella completamente y toda el agua se escapa por el drenaje en menos de lo que canta un gallo? Y además, ¿te vas a poner a tallar como si estuvieras en azotea de vecindad, en esas piletas de piedra? Aquí, sólo necesitas echar tu ropa (poca, tampoco exageres), detergente líquido (que puedes llevar desde tu casa en una de esas botellitas de viaje de menos de 100 ml), y agua (hasta la medida que indica la bolsa). Sacas el aire, y empiezas a doblar para sellar la bolsa (está todo super claro con dibujitos y todo, no hay pierde). Ya que tengas una bola de plástico con ropa, agua y jabón, ponla en el piso, siéntate, y empieza a masajear con el pie (con cariño, no te pases tampoco). Dependiendo qué tan cochina esté tu ropa, unos 10 minutos serían surficientes (no se va a hacer mucha espuma, porque precisamente estás usando el detergente que usas en tu lavadora que es de baja espuma). Después, con cuidado, vacía el liquido en el lavabo, y empieza a enjuagar y exprimir tu ropa, hasta que ya no sientas las manos resbalosas (ahí ya te aseguraste que el jabón ya se fue), agarra unos ganchos del clóset del hotel y cuelga en donde puedas, ventana, balcón, regadera, etcl. Y ya, lavaste tu ropa del día en menos de 15 minutos. La bolsa, enjuágala por dentro, voltéala y deja que se seque, ahí colgada en la regadera, cuando esté seca, volteála otra vez... Caray, suena demasiado sencillo... ¡porque lo es! El producto no gotea, no se escurre y es una salvación para cuando viajas y no quieres oler a homeless neoyorquino. Una verdadera ma-ra-vi-lla.

Got the idea from someone on a sailing holiday where fresh water is less available. Took it on our holidays to rinse T-shirts and socks etc and a few rubs, little rinse and it definitely smells fresher. I use a biodegradable detergent so I can just chuck the water out anywhere without feeling bad!

Nous nous en servons tous les 2 à 3 jours depuis plusieurs mois. Pratique, simple et nous dépassons la quantité notée. Ça nettoie bien.
