I did try using in car & on dining chair but I found it uncomfortable as it pushed you forward in the seat. A sit on cushion is better for me personally. When I lean against the support it provides fantastic support for my lower back that I have issues with and is very comfortable to sit against. Part of the cushion has a mesh front with the sides having a soft velvet cover which feel very comfortable. The cushion is also washable by unzipping and removing the padded foam. I use this cushion in my car as well as it provides brilliant support and cushioning when I driving.
