I’ve been using the Calgon 4-in-1 Washing Machine Cleaner Tablets mainly to help keep on top of limescale and general build-up. They’re easy enough to use – just pop one in and run a cycle – so there’s no extra hassle. Over time, I’ve noticed the machine smells fresher, and it seems to run a bit smoother, which is a nice bonus. It’s meant to protect parts like the drum and heating element, and while you don’t see that directly, it does give a bit of peace of mind that you’re helping the machine last longer. At £5 for 15 tablets, it feels reasonably priced, especially compared to potential repair costs down the line. I don’t use these every time I use my washing machine but every other time. Good at stopping your machine from getting dirty.

Hopefully does what it says on the box , does make the machine smell better.
