3000W 120V to 100V Voltage Converter US to Japan Step Down/Up Transformer

This seems like a very robust unit and it was just what I needed to run my Japanese Sony deck that runs on 100 volts.

Great step up/down transformer at high wattage support! I actually ordered it three times and finally it arrived the correct one I ordered. Previous two I got wrong spec and sent them back. I waited 10 more days to try it again and this 3rd time came the correct one. I used it for dual purpose: Japan 100V appliance, and isolation transformer for high end audio. The 3KW rated transformer is no joke. Huge! Heavy! My power amp runs full throttle at 4-500W max capped and you really need at least 3x more power transformer to get the optimal result. It runs cool and quiet. It comes with 3 120V outlets and 3 100V outlets that seven more than I need. It’s bang for the buck 100%!

It works great.. I needed this adapter for my Japanese gear.. works perfectly as a step down converter with my Akai s950 and Roland Space echo re201..

Unit provided 146V instead of 100V. I decided to test this unit using a digital multimeter prior to plugging in my newly imported vintage Japanese turntable. Thank goodness I did because the output from the 100 V Outlet was 146 V. I used a brand new Klein MM720 and tested both on the AC voltage setting and on the low impedance voltage setting to get the same result. The input voltage on the back was properly set at 120 V. I then switched the input voltage to 100 to see what results I would get. I was now was getting 120 V out of the 100 V outlet and 100 V out of the pass through Outlet. Clearly, some wiring has not been correctly done in the unit. I have returned it. The unit seemed very solid and well-made. However, make sure that you check the voltage output prior to use, because their quality control did not find this most basic flaw. If I had run my 100 V turntable at 146 V, I am not sure how long it would’ve survived and would likely have been toast!

What can I say about this heavy-duty and robust metal casing of the 5000w stepdown/up transformer which works flawlessly with my NX-AA10 flame dance flagship rice cooker from Zojirushi available exclusively only in Japanese Domestic Market. I paid a hefty price to import the rice cooker all the way from Japan and it took me a few days to receive this transformer from Amazon! A solid piece of equipment and a kit! This rice cooker produces the most delicious fluffy, chewy and sweet short grain rice ever. Best purchase EVER!
