10/10 would buy again
I paid $280 for the 12 piece, made in Brazil set.5 months after purchase.Pros:Heavy (but not too heavy)Excellent finish on all, no scuffs or markingsSolid construction (no bad rivets yet)Variety of sizesCons:I'm getting nitpicky about keeping them polishedThey're not fully cladThe top edges aren't fully clad, which may EVENTUALLY be a wear point - I haven't noticed anything negative yet there though. I don't run them through the dishwasher for this reason alone. That being said, you won't find true 3 or 5 ply fully clad pans for even twice this price. They arrived with a mirror finish, and they for the most part still have that though are starting to show signs of use. One could probably fully polish and restore them if they wanted - to me they're nice pots and pans that I want to use, not hang on a wall to collect dust. They behave like stainless, and should be used as such - don't expect nonstick or cast iron qualities from a completely different material. Preheat the pan dry, add your pan lube and let it come back up to temp before cooking. You can get a decent sear on a steak at medium high heat if preheated. My eggs slip and slide around the preheated pan with a little butter at medium/medium low.Any fats dribbled down the outside of the pan and not immediately cleaned WILL polymerize and discolor the outside. This doesn't affect cooking once achieved, and can be removed the same as removing the "seasoning" from a cast iron.I wouldn't recommend metal utensils if you want to maintain a scratch-free finish, but it's stainless steel - you'd have to really go at it to cause scratches deep enough to affect cooking. a little clattering with a spoon when basting a steak won't hurt them any.For cleaning, boil any seriously stuck on crust and scrape with a hard plastic scraper when cooled enough to do so. repeat as needed, finish with your typical scrubber. Do not shock a hot empty pan with cold water, no matter the material type, ever. Wouldn't recommend the dishwasher on the regular, but I imagine a little automated action here and there won't hurt longevity much. Barkeeper's Friend is your best friend for getting the shine and polish back.I expect this set will last me another 10 years.

Use as instructed!
I thought it would be useful to potential customers to review my experience with this cookware. I have long been used to doing hard and fast cooking at high heat. That is not the technique for this cookware. It heats steadily and holds it, so it is critical to be aware of the heat level; it works best at lower heat than you are familiar. Other reviews complained of sticking and scorching - you are cooking at too high a heat. Dial it back and be patient. Food won't stick unless you put the temperature too high, use to medium to low heat. Let the utensil cool down before starting to soak or clean it. Residue moves easily after soaking in soapy water and you can finish it off with Barkeepers Friend. After several months my cookware still looks new. The only real complain I have is with gas stovetop it is difficult to get the heat low enough to simmer. Best I think for electric or induction stoves. Highly recommended.

Amazing!
I've waited to write a review after using these pans for several months. I'm glad I trusted America's Test Kitchen with this purchase, because they are everything they're supposed to be. I use these pans every single day (I love cooking). They've held up to everything I've done and even when I messed up a few times (learning to use stainless), with a little elbow grease and Barkeep for Stainless, they were as good as new. They heat evenly on my glasstop as well and I have had no issues transferring the largest skillet to the oven for further cooking of a dish.I have a cast iron skillet that is an heirloom family piece and I honestly believe this stainless will end up the same.Only thing I haven't done is frying, but I don't fry often, so I can't speak to even heating of several inches of oil.

Quality cookware
Ordered almost two years ago.Had to buy induction ready cookware for new induction stove.Had great review on America Test Kitchens.I am absolutely satisfied with these pans. They work outstanding on our induction stove and sure they would work just as well on conventional electric or gas. They heat evenly and are easy to care for.So enjoyable using that I find myself cooking more than I used to.I have always cooked a lot but now cook even more.I replaced a set of Calphalon tri ply pans we have had for years that were not induction ready. The Tramontina pans work as well or better than the Calphalon pans.I have more than this set. Also purchased a few other Tramontina pans to add to the set.Buy these. You will not be disappointed.

Cooking up perfection
These pots and pans are a delight to cook with. With a bit of oil and turning my flame down our food is turning out cooked to perfection.

Just about the perfect set for me
So far, I am loving them, with minor exceptions.PROS:1-They heat much more quickly and evenly than my last set which only had the 'puck' on the bottom instead of true three-ply throughout.2-The handles are comfortable and the pans do not 'roll' in your hand.3-The finish is beautiful.4-They have the look and feel of quality.Cons - here are the deficiencies I have encountered so far:1 - Unlike my last set where one of the saucepan lids fit each of the frying pans, none of the lids fit the 10" Fry Pan.2 -That's it, I am waiting to discover a #2 for the Cons list.
