Restores and maintains skin moisture and elasticity. Urea is naturally found in the skin. Scientists call urea a true “humectant” because it is an important component of the body’s Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF). Urea causes hard, dry skin cells to "unpack" and expose their water binding sites, thus enabling the cell to absorb and retain additional moisture. This action, ( hydrotopic solubilisation), has been proven by several independent clinical investigations. Vegetable Glycerin also acts as a humectant, attracting water to the skin to restore suppleness. It moisturises, soothes & hydrates the skin. Lactic Acid is commonly used to treat dry, scaly skin conditions. Another humectant, Lactic Acid increases the amount of water in the skin, making it softer and more pliable. Allantoin has anti-inflammatory properties and the ability to ease skin irritation. It helps to soften and smooth dry, irritated skin. Allantoin softens keratin, a tough, inflexible protein found in the outer layer of the skin, so allowing skin to hold onto water better, so making it moister, softer and better hydrated. Beeswax contains powerful anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that are all beneficial to the skin. Beeswax improves the condition and texture of skin.
