Excellent value for price (with reservations)
I've only had the Jet for a short while now but on the positive side: 1) It has a brilliant display. Kind of like a monochrome marquee. It's easy on the eyes and features adjustable brightness. The armband and wristband is included (wristband was a bit overkill, not sure when I would need that) and 2) It appears very durable. I've already beat it around at work and it keeps returning alive like Terminator. On the flip side, the control buttons take a lot of pressure to activate. Usually I'm worried about pressing these things too hard just to be careful but this one demands a little more. My greatest pet-peeve is that it does not take a regular battery. This generation loves the internal (disposable) rechargeable batteries. However, with the traditional method I could still buy a rechargeable battery. Unfortunately, when this runs down, I cannot simply replace the battery and continue on my merry way ... no, I have to plug it into a computer and wait. And rechargeable batteries eventually die. So, if I cannot change the battery in this device, doesn't that mean that I just purchased a disposable mp3 player? Is that rational? Because of this I am dissatisfied but if the button pressure and internal rechargeable battery is fine with you, then it is a great player for the price.

This is a great little device
Sport MP3 I like to walk, Get some fresh air and exercise and this is a great little device to walk with ...It is a stop watch plus many other features and I can pick the music I want to walk with on my computer set it up on the mp3 so I can set the mood for my walk It is easy to use, When I am walking I don't want to have to fuss with a bunch of different buttons ... I pick the music I want the night before and pre-program the MP3 So when I walk just push my pre chosen choices ! it is that simple large memory for wide variety of music, talking books ... it can even play radio stations that you can set up favorite radio stations all in this little handy device !

No power.
I had high hopes for this RCA MP3 player; however, as with other reviewers - I too fell into purchasing this player knowing that it would possibly not power on. I was not let down. After charging up for 5+ hours via USB (the player stated charging but would never state fully charged, the player would still not turn on. I went to the RCA website and downloaded the firmware update; however, Windows 7 is not supported - therefore, I could not even attempt to start up that installation process. So, after playing the waiting game (for the battery to charge and time invested in locating the problem on my own via the company's website), after 6 hours - it was boxed up and scheduled for Amazon Returns. I had high hopes...

Some troubles
The first unit received was faulty...had to pay additional shipping back to RCA for repairs. Armband strap broke within 2 weeks. Sound quality is fine, however disappointed with armband strap and original unit.

BATTERY PROBLEM
Alot of features but complicated to figure out. Sweet headphones but fragile. Best part is armband, i sleep with it on. Has lock but unnecessary cause buttons are semi hard to push. I read audiobooks are bad on this but you can record the radio. Battery doesn't last 15hours! More like 4 or more albums, given you use the right charger(5volts, 500mah).

Dead battery
I had the older version (500meg) for at least 3 years. It was the only mp3 that held up to sweat from the gym. Battery life was still excellent , however I lost it a few weeks ago. I bought the 1 gig as a replacement for the one I lost. The price was great, but the battery would not charge. I sent it back at amazon for a full refund without any problems. I'm not sure if I want to try again. Great product if you get one with a good battery

Great for working out.
This is way better than my ipod. For a tenth of the price I got this RCA jet and I think the headphones are far superior, it came with the strap for working out and a radio which did NOT come with the overpriced ipod. This mp3 player does not have pictures or videos but that is not what I wanted from an MP3 player. I strongly recommend this over the ipod. Especially, if it's just for work outs.

Durable small player
I made a purchase of this device several years ago and it was hard to find replacement parts ( the arm/wrist band ) becuase it was no longer available in stores. I even called RCA but no luck finding this model even though that hade a newer bigger Gig bite system but it too wasn't available. Amazon hade the device at a great price. I didn't want to use my cell phone for music storage.
