Not only is it quick, clean and easy, but it is the only toilet seal that lets you β€œfeel the seal.” As you lower the toilet onto the flange you can feel the unique sealing rings of the Wax Free Toilet Seal compress and seal against the inside walls of the drain pipe. Because I raised the floor in the RV bathroom due to a repair, this made the toilet installation even easier. The glue on this seal is VERY good. Highly recommend... Review: This is absolutely the best seal to use on a new toilet installation. I say new toilet because the surface must be clean and dry and getting all of the wax off of an old toilet would be challenging but not impossible with the right cleaning solutions. This product uses a very strong adhesive to seal against the bottom of the toilet, the lower part uses compression rings to seal and extends several inched down into the drain. Properly installed I don't see how these could leak and unlike wax rings their is no sticky mess to deal with. I don't know why these aren't the standard for mounting all new toilets. Excellent product and easy to use. ## Features - The clean and easy way to install a toilet - Clean, no messy wax - Easy no fuss one piece design - Quick with only two steps to install - Seals on raised floors, wood, tile, linoleum, and carpet ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B000BQUJEA | | Batteries Required? | No | | Batteries included? | No | | Colour | Iron | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars (740) | | Date First Available | 7 Dec. 2011 | | Included Components | Fernco Inc. Mine was damaged.** A: Remove the paper that's over the stick glue. The sticky piece stays on to make the bond to toilet **Q: Can you re-install if you mess up and have to lift the toilet and try again? For example the bolts get displaced too much or the threads are damaged** A: It depends. I've used these on about a dozen toilet installs and will never use a wax ring again. A couple of times I've had to remove a toilet after initially seating (both because the spread of the toilet bolts were off and the caps wouldn't conceal the slots). In one case the seal came out easily and remained intact, in the other it partly separated from the toilet horn so I replaced the seal for peace-of-mind (always have a spare...). Preparation of the mating surfaces will affect whether you can remove without compromising the seal: (1) clean out the closet flange of old wax and make sure the perimeter is free of any burrs (often, when the knock-out is removed, the installer doesn't bother to smooth the rough edges left behind); and (2) be sure to lube the entire exterior of the seal to help it slide into place as this also help it come out should you need to remove. I use plumber's grease (made to be safe for rubber) although the instructions suggest an always-available, rubber-safe solution -- dishwashing liquid. **Q: Do they make one for a 2.5" ID Drain Pipe? If not, is there a wax free solution available?** A: check with a plumbing supply house about to measure pipe size. I t is probably 3 inch pipe. **Q: Does this version really have two ribs? The ones I see at my local hardware store has 4 ribs.** A: The photo only shows two ribs but Fernco now supplies them with four ribs. Go to their website: http://www.fernco.com/plumbing/wax-free-toilet-sealThe picture on my box still showed two ribs but the seal inside had four. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by B***N on 11 July 2024* This item is perfect for my RV Toilet replacement.
