Clean high protein!
I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty this was! I was looking for a clean protein powder and I love that this is from grass fed beef. It blends very easily into water, although I usually throw in some coconut milk and ice and sometimes NakedPB and pop it in my blender. With only 2 g of carbs and 20 g of protein, I love starting my day with this. Have not tried it hot yet although I would guess that it is very much like hot chocolate and would be a nice supplement to coffee. Itโs a little sweet, but not too much for me and itโs diluted by the time I add in milk/water and ice. I love that it has very simple and clean ingredients. I highly recommend!

This vs Nutricost
I have bought and tried both "Peak Performance Grass Fed Beef Protein Isolate Chocolate 30 servings" and "Nutricost Beef Protein Isolate Powder Chocolate 32 servings" as beef protein sources. This review is to compare the two. I have only tried the chocolate flavors for both. I have moved off of whey protein because of the bloating that I don't get with beef protein. The Peak Performance ingredient list reads a little better. The cattle are grass-fed. It has half the carbs and no added sugar and lower in fat. It is quite a bit higher in cholesterol, sodium, calcium, iron, and potassium (not sure if these are good things, a lot of people get too much iron already). They both have 20g of protein. Price: Nutricost is the clear winner. Value: I can go either way on these. Grass-fed beef is mentioned more favorably these days. I have rated both as a 5. Taste: I have had issues with the taste of Peak Performance--not terrible, just "off". I improve it by mixing with 16oz of unsweetened coconut milk. The Nutricost is a little too sweet; it also benefits from mixing with coconut milk. The Nutricost taste is more reliably good. Digestability: Both are good. Texture: I can't tell the difference, both are fine to me. You must use some kind of electric blender to get good mixing; I wouldn't even try these using a spoon to mix. Both mix well with unflavored collagen power and unflavored creatine powder. You will get a froth for both; I drink using a straw to get at what's below the froth. Wider straws are better. I drink both heavily chilled, sometimes even freezing them and thawing then re-blending to get a slushie. Hot is also okay, but I don't do that. I will be trying the Equip beef protein powder in the next month or so and will try to report back here thereafter. UPDATE: 5/8/2026 I did get the Equip product and it is better tasting than Peak Performance or Nutricost, but more expensive than Nutricost. I have settled on using Equip henceforth, and I'll put Nutricost in 2nd place and Peak Performance in 3rd (taste if a bit off for me)

Best protein powder!
This protein is awesome. The flavor is so rich and chocolaty, and it mixes really well in a blender. Itโs so much better than whey. I am trying to limit my lactose intake and this is the perfect option. Itโs also less expensive than some of the other options out there. Love it!

Holy Cow! (Literally)
As I was making some lifestyle changes, trying to get more protein in my diet, I asked my mom about protein powders, as she's really good at researching what's good for you and what isn't. She just so happened to have a canister of this protein powder, that she sadly cannot use since Stevia doesn't agree with her. But! She said that as far as protein powders go, this is probably some of the best you can get (that's why she bought it in the first place) I'll admit, I was hesitant! There's no way beef protein could taste like chocolate without a horrid aftertaste, right?... Wrong! This tastes amazing! I make myself an iced Mocha with it every morning, and it is my favorite part of my routine! It satisfys my chocolate cravings in a more beneficial way, and I have it with my breakfast, and it keeps me fuller longer! I also notice that it keeps me energized throughout my day, more than a regular cup of coffee does! I was so impressed that I bought more! It's a little expensive, but The price is 100% worth it to me.

Great taste. Bad blending
Taste delicious with Macademia milk but it needs a blender to mix. I did not give it 5 starts because there is no way to mix it with a shaker or by hand

My most favorite of Paleo friendly options.
I have tried so many over the years. I go back to the days when the GNC store was the only place you could find supplements and have to admit I tried some back then were completely silly by today's standards. I went Paleo over a decade ago and while "processed" is a taboo, I simply cannot eat as much as I need to eat without supplementation. I have ordered this in two flavors and put them both on auto ship. I mixes wonderfully into my morning coffee, a quick power whisk and no clumps or globs. I actually put a scoop of each flavor into the same big cup and it is a great protein macro boost to get me ahead of the day. I've had no bloating issues, over a dozen or more orders it has been 100% consistent. I am not so committed that I don't care about the price but I think it is fairly priced for the ratio it provides.

Weight gain
I like the flavor and it mixes well. However, I noticed i am gaining weight- UGH! theere are no side effects like drinking the whey protein and i appreciate that!!!! I am concerned about the WEIGHT gain. I just can 't do it with WATER_GROSS! i use almond and or coconut blend. Some low fat milk or MALK. But Malk is little watery! Any suggestions? i love the flavor! Some times mix with Every Day Dose mushroom coffee too and that is amazing!!! Thanks

Cleanest protein powder I've found for a carnivore
I really love this protein mix. As a dirty carnivore I've been drinking my morning whey protein shake for about a year now. I've noticed that I've started to become more bloated and gassy in the past few months which carnivore all but eliminated. I've always suspected that the dairy based protein mixes might be the culprit of the digestive issues although more mild than they used to be, still very unpleasant as I was in a lot of pain most day prior to carnivore. I am somewhat lactose intolerant (can still eat cheese and sour cream in small amounts without issue). As soon as I took my first drink I could tell immediately making the switch from whey to beef was the right move. I'm only a few days in and the gas and stomach irritation is all but gone again and I haven't changed anything in my diet except the protein mix. The taste is actually quite good surprisingly. I was afraid it would have a strong beef after taste but it doesn't. Before you make up your mind do a side by side taste test with what you currently drink. I think you'll be surprised. It just tastes clean. I don't know how else to describe it. I make mine hot as I like to have a warm beverage in the morning but don't drink coffee. It mixes well with some butter, cacao butter chips, and a little sea salt. I use a frother to mix it and it blends without clumps. I don't know how it mixes in a shaker bottle or with other cold liquids. However, mixing whey with hot water will cause curding if the water is too hot. So far this mix has no problem since it isn't dairy based. My wife likes to put the protein mix in her cute little container and it fits perfectly. Give it a shot. I'm pretty sure you'll love it. I do.
