Great product, well designed
I had an older model dog dooley in the form of a large plastic pyramid open at the bottom that you buried in a large hole in the ground. This served me well for over 20 years, but the plastic lid at the top eventually broke from usage and fatigue, though the underground structure is still working to this day. This new model is made of steel, and is closed at the bottom. It is installed by digging a deep and narrow 48"x14" hole in the ground. I made the hole too wide, and had to use small rebar bars at the top to make it fill, and then filled the too-wide mouth of the hole with gravel. I could have dug another hole, but the initial hole was hard to dig because of roots, so decided to improvise. Make sure that the hole is narrow.Once the digester is installed, it is very easy to operate. You need to add water periodically, which overflows from the inside into the deeper hole. The opening of the digester of the digester is wide enough that the matter inside can be easily turned periodically. This helps breakdown clumps in the matter, spread the enzymes, and add oxygen.Eventually, I presume that the hole in which the digester is installed may become full, and may have to be emptied or a new hole dug, but that will probably take years.Overally if you are interested in an ecological way to digest your pet waste that does not involve plastic bags and throwing poop in your trash, I highly recommend this system. It is well designed, well built and very practical. It does take a little work to install, and light periodic maintenance.

Doggy Doo Doo septic tank first year
I decided since I have two big puppies that I need to find a way to pick up poo poo and be able to break it down so itās not in the garbage stinking it in my garage. I got this doggy Doodoo and I love the way it works. The hard part is digging through the rock 4 feet down to put it in I would like to see a little bit more of a rim thatās more made out of metal that you can set it into the edges of This Where you place it for your septic tank recycling so the first time I put it together we it all comes in one piece. I love its mobility, and the one thing I would say, is make a little bigger hole where the poop goes down so that you can not have it gets stuck on the edges when it goes over the edge of the septic tank with water, filling it to go down the hole to be broken down . Iām absolutely loving it. You lift the lid you put the poopy in from the poopy Scoopy you put your enzyme in once a week you add water every time you put your poop in you had a gallon and if youāre starting out thatās 5 gallons with the two enzyme pills. It does come with enzyme pills and Iām just like I said very first time and year that Iām doing this so we may be updating this as we go. It says that you can leave it for the winter time, so my thing is, weāre gonna see how it does through the winter thatāll be the next one. I love it Iām glad to be able to pick up the poop and put it in there and just not worry about it well-made well done I like to see a lot more. I wouldnty mind selling these things. That said thereās a lot of things out there that are doggie poop things and thereās things you can do as well but read up make sure that theyāre what you want and if you can do it in the air youāre in some places itās not a good fit.

Too much from our house for this
UPDATE: 3YR LATER: went to start using it for the season and realized the bottom of the unit is cracked and no longer holding water. Suspect the rapid deep freeze of this past winter (From 30's to Zero degrees F in a matter of half a day) cracked the unit - or maybe it just rusted out?I love the idea of this taking the poo out of the yard so you don't step in it or have a dog decide to eat it (the red one... I understand its a thing sometimes).Like the idea of not adding poop to a landfill too!Unfortunately first problem is we have 3 dogs at 65-85-90 lbs and the quantity of poop exceeds what can be processed. The second issue is here in Tennessee the soil can have high clay content and yet I tried this anyway. The hole underneath can literally get full to the bucket toward the end of the summer; especially if the ground is saturated.Clearly in the directions the subject of too many dogs and clay soil are stated to be negatives to the function so consider this more a cautionary note. What I am doing is scooping-and-landfill about 4 days a week and using the dooley for the rest. Its a great thing for people who watch my dogs to use as well.If it does get too full I add extra septic powder and not add more poo for a few days and it always evens out. I have found occasional "shake and bake" the Walmart septic powder in the scoop on the fresh poo right before adding it to the dooley effective.Ultimately I do recommend this product but be aware it may not be able to handle 100% of the capacity your pets produce. It does reduce what goes into the landfill from our house and that's always a good thing.good luck!
