i have a couple 50mm watches....will this winder work for them?

When most watches seem to recommend 650-800 turns per day, why does this unit start at ~550 and then next setting jump to ~1500+ ?

Good question! Because some watch brand is wond only in one direction, either clockwise or counter clockwise, while others is wond in both directions. My watch winder's programm is automatic rotate in both directions. Normally mode 2 with 576 is enough for daily usage watch. But for one direction wond watch , under mode 2, one direction is only wond 288, they needs double of the winding, so it needs to go next mode for double winding in one direction. Once watch's winding is enough, watch will stop to accept the winding automatically, no needs to worry about over winding.
