Perfect for chameleons and live plants
I love these lamps, they put out a good amount of visual light with little output of heat. I have purchased 4 of these bulbs and all work great! I have tried the National Geographic UV lamps and they seemed very dull in comparison. I currently use two 26W for a 18x18x24, heavily planted, pygmy chameleon enclosure and it illuminates it very well. (I also use the 13W for a 12x12x18) The light seems to be more of a cool hue, as opposed to yellow. The live plants as well as the chameleons are all thriving. Plus the cost is half of that in the pet stores, which is a plus when then need to be replaced every 6 months. (note that the bulb still works, it is the invisible UV that decreased after 6 months)

WOW!
Extremely bright!! Was a bit disappointed when I first turned it on. Was very dim and crappy. I've gotten used to the 'auto-on' CFL's. This one is not an auto-on. Takes about 5 minutes to fully warm up. Once it does, it's BRIGHT! Looks like natural sun light. Works perfectly combined with a night time lamp. Had it in my son's 30 gal vivarium. Really makes everything 'POP'! Great light for the price. Puts off next to nothing for heat, so I wouldn't recommend for snakes or other cold blooded reptiles!

Turtle loves it!
I change the UVA/UVB bulb on my turtles tank every 6 months so I have been using this brand for the past few years. It is quite fragile (I broke one by over tightening it) so be careful. I was leery of having one of these shipped to me but have never had an issue with Amazon's packaging. Can usually save about $5 per bulb buying Amazon vs. Petco, etc. Great value and would recommend.

Reduce the price as these lamps must be replaced ahead of schedule.
These lamps are very weak and do not provide enough bright light...

Great UVB bulb!
I bought this to use for my crested gecko. Works great! Came packaged well and undamaged. Bulb was not cracked or broken in any way. Have been using for a few months now and it has held up great. Bright enough to see everything but not too bright to overpower. Color is a crisp white. Needed UVB for my crested gecko's health. She is much more active and colors are more bold with this type of lighting. Would highly recommend!

Great for hermit crabs
I've been using these for years for my hermit crabs. I have an opening in my acrylic lid that fits my light hood perfectly. The light hood helps to keep the humidity from escaping and the opening allows for the uva and uvb to penetrate. My crabs bask under it from time to time, so I know contrary to popular belief, they are receiving a needed benefit from it.

Bulb comparisons..... These Exo Terra UVB bulbs are defective- going back to Reptisun bulbs
I’ve always used Reptisun bulbs but thought I would try Exo Terra’s after reading about their new line of UVB lights on their website. I ordered a 26 watt UVB 100 bulb (formerly sold as Repti Glo 5.0 per the label) and a 26 watt Natural Light (formerly Repti Glo 2.0) but while the Natural Light fired right up (and I am quite happy with it), the UVB was dead on arrival. Ordered a second UVB 100 while Amazon was in the process of refunding the first one and the second bulb was dead on arrival, too. I requested a replacement and while the third bulb did turn on, 3 of the 4 1/2 coils do not work. Also, the bit that does light is extremely dim and very yellow. I provided a photo of it and a photo of the UVB 100 compared to Natural Light I received. Although they are very close in spectrum according to their boxes (Repti Glo 2.0 vs Repti Glo 5.0) and are both manufactured by Exo Terra , the UVB bulb is extremely dim (according to the chart on the box, it is only 1/4 of the lux when compared to the Natural Light at 8”) and very, very yellow.Out of curiosity, I put a 13 watt Reptisun 5.0 in the fixture next to Exo Terra’s 26 watt UVB 100 and while the Retpisun should be dimmer as it is half the wattage, it is actually considerably brighter as well as having a much more crisp and whiter light (similar to the Exo Terra Natural Light bulb that I purchased). Needless to say, I am going back to Reptisun. I am in the process of purchasing a Reptisun 26 watt 5.0 which is supposed to be equivalent to Exo Terra’s UVB 100 as receiving 3 consecutive defective bulbs is too much for me. For comparison purposes, out of a dozen or so compact fluorescent Reptisuns that I have ordered from Amazon, only one (the first one I bought) has had issues (it came in a bundled package and was quite dim). It’s a shame as these looked promising.....

A great buy for a stable item in reptile keeping!
Absolutely necessary for many reptiles, this bulb provides the full spectrum UVB light needed for them to produce Vitamin D3 and properly absorb calcium while being at least half the price on Amazon than in any pet store (I've seen one store charging $40). This particular bulb is only effective at a depth of 12" so reptiles in taller setups should be able to get within 12" of the light through normal daily activity/basking. Keep in mind that although the bulb itself will last for a very long time, within 6 months it is no longer putting off a significant amount of UVB light and will need to be replaced. There are some claims that providing a diet enriched in vit D3 eliminates the need for a UVB bulb. Even if you do feed an enriched diet, having a UVB bulb on your herps won't harm them and will be better for the health of species particularly sensitive to the need of UVB lights such as Chinese Water Dragons.I use these bulbs for a common musk turtle and mountain horned dragon.
