You don't need it, but it's still my favorite new tool I bought for putting a new head and timing chain in a 2.0 TSI. Super simple and works perfectly. So much better than wrenches that won't fit at half of the range of rotation.

Best tool ever for setting VW camshafts...
Best tool ever for VW timing of the camshafts... Works great on both intake and exhaust shafts... I am so glad I got it... was struggling especially with the intake shaft which seemed to require a unique special tool. My VW 1.8 L is perfectly timed and now putting everything together and awaiting the bog moment.
