Great value in an almost gym-like build quality
As a 66-year-old retiree who has stayed active over the years, I look for equipment that challenges my cardiovascular health without being overly taxing on my joints. After testing the Sunny Health & Fitness Smart Upright Row-N-Ride Trainer, I’ve found it to be a surprisingly robust addition to my home routine. Here is my detailed assessment based on several weeks of use: 1. The Experience: Low-Impact Cardio for Seniors Initially, I was worried this might be a "gimmick" machine, but the range of motion is actually quite smooth. I use this for 20-minute sessions four mornings a week. Because you are seated and "assisted" during the squat phase, it takes the jarring pressure off my knees that I usually feel with traditional floor squats. Heart Rate: I can easily get into my target "zone 2" cardio range within 5 minutes. Stamina: Unlike a treadmill, which can feel monotonous, the rowing motion engages my core and arms, making the workout feel more "total body" and less like a chore. 2. Quality of Build & Ease of Use The build quality is excellent for this price point. The frame is heavy-duty steel and feels stable even when I'm at the top of the rowing motion. Assembly: As someone who usually dreads "some assembly required," I was pleased that this took me less than 25 minutes. Most of the main frame comes pre-assembled; you primarily just attach the seat, handlebars, and pedals. The "Smart" Connection: The Bluetooth synced instantly with the app. I don’t use all the advanced features, but having a digital trainer on the screen helps keep my pace consistent. 3. Gap-Filling Details (What the Listing Misses) While the listing mentions the 330lb capacity, it doesn't emphasize how small the footprint is. Storage: When folded, it’s about the size of a standard ironing board. I tuck mine behind the bedroom door, and at roughly 30 lbs, it's light enough for me to move without straining my back. Resistance Reality: There are three resistance bands. For a cardio-focused workout, I suggest starting with just one band. Using all three makes it much more of a "strength" trainer, which can make it harder to maintain a high-enough RPM for a cardio burn. 4. Balanced Objectivity Pros: Self-Leveling Pedals: This is a huge win for stability. My feet feel "locked in" regardless of the squat depth (30, 60, or 90 degrees). Whisper Quiet: I can workout while my husband is sleeping in the next room; there’s no motor noise, just the faint stretch of the bands. Cons: The Seat: While padded, it is a bit firm. For longer sessions (30+ mins), I’ve started using a small towel for extra cushioning. Handlebar Reach: If you are under 5’2”, you may find the reach a bit long even on the lowest setting. At 5'5", it fits me perfectly. 5. Who Is This For? This is the perfect machine for the "Active Senior" or anyone recovering from minor joint issues who needs a way to keep their heart rate up at home. It’s significantly more effective than a folding exercise bike because it prevents the "hunching" posture and forces you to engage your back and glutes.

Very nice machine
I like that this is light enough for me to move easily (and I'm not a very strong woman) & it's quick to fold up & down. I hate having to monkey around with a bunch of steps just to use something, esp if it's something I'm going to use often. Thankfully this is very easy & fast to set up & take down. It's also very stable & sturdy. I'm not a small person, so I'm always a little worried about stuff like this, but once I got on it, it was totally steady under me & while I use it. I use it on my shag carpet rug that takes up much of my living room & even still it's completely stable & sturdy. I did have to put it together after it arrived but that was not too hard. The directions were easy to follow & I got it done by myself in about 40 minutes. I like that it links with Bluetooth to the app so I don't have to input anything, it just tracks it automatically. I also appreciate that it has lots of ways to change the workout. The seat can be higher or lower depending on how much effort you want to put into it, there are 3 resistance bands that attach to the bottom if you want to increase the difficulty level, and if you're weak like me, you can just not use them at all & rely on just your own bodyweight. The seat can also adjust forward & back to fit your height & the handles also adjust as well. The seat is also comfortable. I'm picky about soft seats, so I was worried, but so far it's been very comfy. The app that it connects to is very useful, as well. It has workout routines specifically for this (and their other) machines so if you're unsure how to get the most out of a workout with it, the app can help with that. I recently did one for this machine that was focused on my upper body & it had me holding the handles in a way it had never thought of in order to target my arms, back and chest. So the free app and free workouts in the app are also great & help me get the most out of this.

A Great Little Machine!
Very impressed with the quality of this machine, especially at such an affordable price. Sturdy but not too heavy to move about. Being a senior though, like me, it would take some strength to fold it up and carry it somewhere to store it. I just received it today. Kudos to the mfg. for their excellent assembly instructions! Do not get overwhelmed with all of the tiny numbers in the diagrams. Go step by step in the manual, very clear! Look at the bubble wrap package of parts VERY clearly numbered by Step #. You will see how FEW parts you will need to assemble it. DO check the video if you get stumped. I will say the only part I REALLY struggled with was Step #3. The bolt JUST would not line up with the hole. I finally got it in but it should not be that difficult. I am a very out of shape 70-something and found going into a full squat even without using any resistance bands hurt my knees so I will use it at my own comfort level taking baby steps at a time to start. Being able to adjust the seat and handle bar helped a lot. My main goal really is simply to strengthen the muscles in my legs. especially my thighs.

Sturdy! Easy to assemble! Many different ways to use this device! Highly recommend!!!
Well packaged with easy-to-follow instructions. The parts for each step in the setup process are packaged individually which makes putting it together easy. My questions about adjusting tension, where to position the seat, handlebar height, etc. were answered by watching one of the numerous videos available on YouTube. I bought the pink one as it was cheaper than the black one, and it's very cute. The color is the only difference in these two choices. Folds up for easy overnight storage, taking up about the same space as an ironing board.

I love this machine
I had never heard of Sunny Fit app or this machine until seeing it on Amazon. It's easy to assemble and most important of all for me, it's QUIET to use. I have downstairs neighbors and I love that it's quiet. The app is also pretty neat because on the 'smart' version of this row machine, you can connect the row machine to the app, choose a workout and even add a warm up and cool down to your workout. (Your workout duration and other info will show on the screen). Once you hit play, the warmup will play, then your workout, then the cool down, seamlessly. I feel like it works my quads the most but it is a full body burn. I'm 5'11 for reference, with long legs and can sit comfortably. I don't find the seat to be hard and it's comfortable the whole workout. You can find workouts for this machine and others they make inside the app. I haven't fully explored the app yet but I really like it and the workouts incorporate kettle bells, weights, cardio, etc, which for me complements using the machine and reduces the likelihood of me getting bored with the machine. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Mind blown!
Took a while to do a review , because I was having SO much fun being amazed and mad at myself for doubting this machine and literally donated three other new workout equipments to be blown away at the training videos and stretching ones too! After a week of getting it I already started toning , and seeing my waist slim , shape changing. Super easy to put together, LOVE the thoughtfulness of the phone holder to get the best working out. You feel the tightness ( good kind ) and firmness of abs, obliques, thighs , arms and shoulders after the workouts all smiles saying " YEAH! IT REALLY WORKS!!" This is a miracle machine because squats do get you back in shape , but always doing tyek right and not injuring ligaments or spraining sucks... this machine helps 100%!

Good quality
I have a pinched nerve in my arm and was looking for something that would exercise whole body while moving my arm in a way that was easy on the joints. I needed something to get myself moving. The standard machine by this vendor had a 220 pound weight limit, so I opted for the heavier duty 330 pound version. The machine comes about 75% assembled and was easy to put together. The exercise motion is easy on the joints but still demanding enough that just a few minutes is a decent workout for someone just starting out. Since the machine uses your own weight as the load, the machine itself is very simple. I started looking at ellipticals and then rowing machines. I decided that this workout looked less boring. The machine is a little heavy, but still lighter than an elliptical. It does fold fairly well for storage in a closet or along a wall.
