Henry Westons Vintage Glass Bottles, 8.2% ABV 8 x 500ml

A lovely sweet taste but not much fizz. A very refreshing drink at a decent strength. It has a very unique authenticity and taste compared to other brands and it's my favourite cider.

If you’ve only ever tried the usual sweet supermarket ciders, Henry Westons Vintage will completely reset your expectations. This isn’t a “summer garden party” drink — it’s the kind of cider that deserves an actual glass, not a plastic cup. At 8.2%, it’s strong — but it never feels harsh or alcoholic. The flavour is deep and mellow, with that signature Westons apple richness and just the right balance of sweetness and dryness. You get the fruit, a bit of oak, and a warmth that builds gently — almost like a fine wine made from apples. Served cold, it’s crisp and refreshing; at room temperature, it becomes almost velvety, with more of that aged, full-bodied flavour coming through. I’ve shared it with friends who don’t usually drink cider, and even they commented on how “proper” it tastes. Packaging-wise, the glass bottles make it feel premium (and much nicer to serve). Each bottle feels substantial — something you actually enjoy opening. If I had to find one fault, it’s that it’s too easy to drink for its strength. At 8.2%, two bottles in and you’ll be feeling very mellow indeed — so pace yourself. Overall, this is a standout cider — rich, balanced, and genuinely satisfying. It’s less about refreshment and more about enjoyment. A perfect choice for when you want something that feels a bit more special than the usual pint. Would I buy it again? Without hesitation. FYI only. The package arrived on time and with no broken bottles, which has happened with other forms. Unfortunately two of the bottles were slowly leaking. Didn’t notice with the first. The second one I did. As the photo shows the too is still there but the liquid level is lower than in all the others I have ever had - usually buy as part of my weekly shop. Taste was slightly more acidic then normal but didn’t spoil the taste. Will be buying more nearer Christmas.

Serve it Withnail And I style: Ice in the cider. Very smooth and not too sweet, tastes of apples and autumn. Lovely drop.
