Calms my 14 year old daughter
I don't really know much about this book, except that it helps my daughter. She gets anxious at times in the night, and, even though she is quite sophisticated, and very bright with loads of friends. And even though she is fairly independent and responsible, she sometimes needs comforting from a source other than her parents. This book gives her that. Years after she has gotten rid of her American Girl dolls (with no regrets) she turns to the American Girl books for soothing. This is the second copy of this particular one I have bought. The first, she left at camp for a younger girl, who needed it, 6 months ago. But now, she feels like she needs it. And it will help her. So, I can't give a higher recommendation. "Molly Saves the Day" is a good story, and, in our family, a trusted friend.

Great for Modern American Girls
I read this book when I was a child and loved it then. I could definitely identify with Molly and her friends. Over spring break I read it to my 8-year-old neice, and she demanded I read it again! She's a tough reader to impress, but she even loved the historical information at the end of the story. Her 12-year-old brother was not interested, though, so I wouldn't call it a book for the whole family. It's excellent for girls in the 6-8 age range.

Cute story full of camp fun for all readers to enjoy.
This is a fun book telling a story about camp life in America--a quintessentially American activity for so many generations of children. Its time period in the 1940s is really irrelevant in this case--it's a great tale of adventure, camaraderie, and the joys of childhood in the summer outdoors.

This was a perfect book for my daughter and I both
This was a perfect book for my daughter and I both! Not only are we covering World War II in school, but just a week ago we were in a camp similar to the one described in the story. Only instead of the kids being given the task of capturing a flag, they were tested on how to work together and find their own individual strength on challenge course. Needless to say we really enjoyed Molly Saves the Day because of the relatablity factor. These books are perfect for intermediate age students wanting to learn a little about other girls in America at different times in history.

CAMP TIME!
This story of Mollys is one of my favorite ones. Molly along with her two best friends Susan and Linda are at summer camp, before long it is the colour war where the red team have to go against the blue team in order to retrive a flag. Molly and Susan are blues and Linda is a red and it isnt long before they are involved in the competion and walking against each other. Will their friendship be safe?
