My $500 Amazon kitchen makeover
I am so incredibly happy with how my stupidly cheap kitchen makeover turned out. Literally everything was purchased on Amazon, and I did it all myself on random weekends while very pregnant (safely, of course). If I could do it, you can, too! The whole thing (minus the kitchen gadgets--just the makeover) cost around $500 and was chosen for cost, looks, and simplicity of application (very pregnant, very impatient). I'm attaching the before and after images, and I'll talk about the individual part relevant to this review. Here is the list of all remodeling purchases: 1. General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint, Gallon + General Finishes Water Based High Performance Polyurethane Top Coat Semi-Gloss Gallon 2. d-c-fix 346-0478 Decorative Self-Adhesive Film, Rustic, 17.71" x78" Roll 3. KINGO HOME Commercial High Arch Stainless Steel Single Lever Brushed Nickel Pull Down Sprayer Kitchen Faucet, Kitchen Sink Faucet with Dual Function Spout Sprayer 4. Mosaic Peel & Stick 10" x 10" Backsplash, Kitchen, Bathroom, DIY Wall Tiles - Set Of 6, Black And White 5. Achim Home Furnishings VFP2.0SS40 Tivoli II Achim Home Imports Silver Spruce 6" x 36" Self Adhesive Vinyl Floor Planks Planks/60 Square Feet, 40 Pack, Piece 6. Brilliant Evolution BRRC135 Wireless LED Puck Light 6 Pack With Remote Control - Operates On 3 AA Batteries - Kitchen Under Cabinet Lighting This flooring turned out SO MUCH better than I anticipated. We were always intending to get bamboo flooring in the kitchen, but never got around to it. The biggest hurdle, and I think a lot of other reviewers were in the same boat, is that our kitchen floor is very uneven. Laying actual vinyl blanks, or bamboo, or pretty much anything else, wouldn't work without demolishing existing tile and evening out the floor (there is a noticeable 'hill' right in the middle between the kitchen and the dining area, so it'd be quite an undertaking). Since we were clearly never going to get to it, and since the tile was eating away at my pregnant nesting soul, I picked this. I chose this color simply because it was the cheapest of all Achim offerings (remember, we wanted bamboo). It was such a good price, I didn't even feel bad, and figured the color would grow on us, if only because of all the left-over cash for other fine things in life. I also ordered some floor glue because everyone else seemed to. I didn't read too much about it, just got whatever everyone else seemed to be getting (frequently purchased with). The prep work for existing tile was half-heartedly mopping the floor and scrubbing the baseboards because they were filthy. NOTE: I did not fill in the existing grout lines. The flooring did sag a little into the lines, exactly as I would expect. I actually bought another set of this exact floor to go over the existing floor, which I also hope will better insulate it, and go over imperfections caused by my impatience in some areas (slight gaps) and the glue situation described below. I laid the glue down per instructions. It's one of those soft-setting types, so it wasn't going to harden. As I laid the floor, no matter how thinly I spread the glue, and no matter how hard I tried to not step on the tiles I laid down, the glue kept seeping through the laid planks and getting everywhere. The tiles also kept shifting ever so slightly, because of the gooey mess underneath. Once I got out of the dining nook and into the kitchen, I gave up and just laid the tiles down with no additional glue--just the adhesive they came with. What's the worst that could happen? Turns out, I still don't know, because that worked so much better. No weird glue goo coming through, no shifting, it was perfect. My only issue was for the area under the fridge and the stove, which was... oily? I scrubbed it with all kinds of degreasers, but it was still slippery and weird. I just laid the tile and hoped for the best. It definitely did shift under the fridge (not the stove), so the second layer I intend to lay down will have fixed this gaffe, and I also got two types of multi-purpose floor super glue, so maybe that'll help too. The color itself looks great with stainless steel appliances. I have absolutely no complaints. It's been down for a few months with hyperactive dogs and a lot of foot traffic, and the planks look like new. Every possible downside is our fault as outlined. Great choice all around. If my floor wasn't all kinds of warped, I may have considered a more hardy type of flooring, but after all's been said and done, I'm not even sure that'd be worth it. My kitchen makeover with the floor cost almost nothing!

Great for kitchen and more
Used this in the kitchen, an area that we were told years ago is one of two places where real wood floors shouldn't go (the other being the bathroom). We both love the results. We found the adhesive to work really well overall. The rustic oak color is in a similar tonal family as the real red oak floors in the rest of the house and so exactly what we were looking for. My husband did the majority of install work over the course of a week around work. This also included most of the "finishing touches" such as staining and cutting a separately purchased (Home Depot) wooden threshold for where the kitchen floor meets the living room floor, filling in any minor gaps with wood filler and cutting near the edges of the room and around awkward areas near the fridge and stove. Those types of spaces are mainly the only places where we added a little liquid nails to ensure the pieces stayed in place--all set! We also liked the tip to use the edge of one of the boards as a straight edge, vs. scoring with a ruler. Previous to purchasing this product I guess we were reluctant to try a non-wood product and weren't sure what the final results would look like but this flooring has changed our minds. It looks better than the real wood flooring in the house which is beginning to show wear. It has a nice texture. The floors are standing up very well to a lot of foot and paw traffic, food and water spills and heavy equipment frequently being transported across them. The instructions were easy to follow and there's a lot of online help and examples, including YouTube videos if you take a look. Now that we've finished the install of this beautiful flooring as part of a larger "Poor Man's Kitchen Makeover", we likely will be using this in our "Poor Man's Bathroom Makeover" later this year. Highly recommend this product......UPDATE OCT. 2015: We just finished the bathroom as planned (pics attached). Very happy with this product.

Great appearance
I used these to hide an imperfect situation on our windowsills. The appearance is great, however the adhesive can be questionable. On the horizontal surface the adhesion was good with proper pre-cleaning with alcohol. However on the narrow vertical surfaces the adhesive in strong enough to hold. Be sure to thoroughly clean the area first. After applying the planks use a roller to firmly set the adhesive to bond.

Blown away by the quality!
I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THESE FLOORS!! And yes, I absolutely had to write that in all caps!! They look and feeeeeel like REAL WOOD!! My man installed them in our fifth wheel that we’re renovating. They’re the EASIEST FLOORS IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD TO INSTALL!! I did purchase an additional floor adhesive because my house in on wheels so I wanted it to be super sticky. I achieved that with the additional floor adhesive. Once installed, the floors are super easy to clean and keep clean. The color is FIRE!!! I am obsessed with these floors and I will DEFINITELY be buying this brand of flooring again for future renovation projects. 10/10 or 5⭐️ I highly recommend these amazing floors!! The best part? I bought 4 packets of 40 all from the Amazon warehouse in “used-good” condition. I saved $80 by purchasing all the floor in used condition. When the “used” floor arrived, it looked like they’d never even been opened before. They looked brand new. I took a chance by ordering them used and it FULLY PAID OFF!! I AM A SUPER DUPER HAPPY AMAZON CUSTOMER!!! Best value for money EVER!! I could go on and on about these floors. They are that amazing. Highly, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! You will not be disappointed!!✌️

I used these to apply over an existing WC floor that was absolutely awful but unfortunately came with the house when we moved in. Real laminate would have been a poor choice and far too difficult for me to do myself as I'm an absolute DIY novice and probably shouldn't be allowed anywhere near tools without a real adult there to stop me breaking myself, so these seemed like an easy and safe choice. I prepped the floor by making sure it was thoroughly clean, dry and even. Then started applying these tiles. All the videos I watched suggested using a Stanley knife to cut with and that may well be the best way to do it but I personally used a pair of sharp, large scissors and they worked brilliantly. I didnt fancy slicing my finger open with a knife...which I would have done. Application was so so easy and quick and the glue is really strong but you're still able to lift a piece and replace it of you've not laid it properly on the first try. In a perfect world in would have lifted the toilet and fitted the tiles underneath but that's a job far beyond my capabilities so I made stencils in order to fit the base of the toilet and cut the tiles to shape...which was again very easy. I'm really pleased with the finished result. It looks like real laminate flooring. You would never guess it was a peel and stick vinyl and I've decided to buy more to do my hallway where the floor needs replacing. If I can do this - anyone can!

EL piso esta bonito y fácil de poner, solo que no me gusto que haya limite de pedido, así no complete ni la entrada de la habitación.

I wish we had done this sooner. The floor looks terrific and we plan to order again. This colour is very nice- not too dark, looks very warm and woodlike. This was installed over some 50+ year old linoleum and done in an afternoon. As this is a cottage, we decided to do some cheap and cheerful improvements, and we're so happy with the results. It was easy to lay down - required some measuring and planning - we staggered the joints so it looked more like a real wood floor. You can score with a knife and snap, but can also cut with scissors for round edges e.g. around the toilet. Ensure your floor is clean and has no grit for maximum adhesion. A few corners did not stick as well, and we added gorilla glue and put a heavy weight now for the day to ensure it stuck.
