Good shoe for walking
Good walking shoe. Comfortable and stable, with support for lateral movement (unlike a running shoe, which I don't like for walks and standing).

Fits Great, Looks Great-ish, Feels Great
New Balance has always been my first choice shoe because, unlike Nike and some others, they understand that feet come in different widths, including 4E!!! Fit is perfect, and the shoe is very supportive for all-day wear. It has been designed for walking, not court, and you can feel the difference. Wish the design were just a little more toned down but comfort overrides optics. The way they have designed the toe graphics doesn't scream "GUNBOATS" with my 13 4E feet. Very happy with the purchase and actually went back to buy another color 1 week later.

Great walking shoes
Iโve been using the New Balance golf shoes so I was pretty confident of the fit before purchasing these for walking and using them in the fitness center. The cushioning and comfort for these are superb. When walking , its construction allows landing on the balls of my feet and avoids a heel strike which puts more stress on my knee's. Iโve just started using these but so far, Iโm very satisfied.

Well designed
I have been purchasing another popular brand of running shoes for many years and since my running days are behind me, I decided to try New Balance walking shoes. Many of my friends, who walk as much as I do, swear by NB. I take advantage of Amazon's "try before you buy" with clothing items and shoes. Since this item was available I decided to try them first. I received them yesterday, 2/4/24. Immediately, I noticed the difference in comfort and fit. I am 75 years young, I need both comfort and support in my shoes/sneakers and these deliver on both. I wear custom arch supports as well and sometimes certain brands do not accommodate them, however, these NB's do. In fact I do not even know that my supports are in these walking shoes. I usually wear a 10 - 10.5 regular depending on the brand. Amazon recommended this size (11 wide), however, I thought the 11 wide would be too big so I ordered a 10.5 wide. They were too tight, especially when I used my arch supports. I returned those and ordered the 11 wide and the fit is amazing. I am now a New Balance devotee!

Another good NB shoes
Exactly as I expected. Fit 14W. Quality looks good. No complains.

Comfy
Very comfortable. I'm 76, and I walk my dog between 3 and 5 miles each and every day. The cushioning these shoes give feels great, almost as if I'm walking "above" the surface of the sidewalk and street. I've been buying New Balance for more than 25 years. I ran four marathons in my 50s, and I was wearing New Balance shoes for all of them.

Narrower than listed width, very poor comfort, poorly manufactured
Item: New Balance 626 V2 Men's Size: 10 XX-Wide Status: Returned Recommendation: Not recommended Detail: How New Balance has gone down hill over the years. The last decent shoe I had from New Balance was the discontinued 847 V4. However, this review is for is for the 626 V2. The length is spot on. However, the width is not XX-Wide. I would venture its more like X-Wide at best. The shoe is also uncomfortable because of the poor width and limited toe room. Nike and Adidas have always focused on athletes with long and narrow feet. They have also charged a premium for their athlete branded shoes. New Balance used to be a shoe company that targeted those of us with wider feet, I'd say about 50% of the population. They also were reasonably priced, well engineered, and well manufactured. Fast forward to today. New Balance has forgotten about us 50% of the population. It is oddly targeting Nike and Adidas customers, at roughly 80% of the cost and 50% of the quality. Seriously, you will see multiple glue marks at the seams. If I had a narrow foot I'd buy Nike rather than New Balance as New Balance isn't in/cool/hip/radical/etc and never will be without Jordan/LaBron/etc and Nike quality design/build. It amazing New Balance is still in business. I will never purchase another New Balance shoe again and encourage those with wider feet to consider APIS, Drew, Propet, or Skechers as they are more like what New Balance used to be, especially Propet.

New Balance has better options
Size 11wide - The whole shoe is still very narrow, with a surprising lack of room in the toebox. That is reason enough for me to send them back, but the ride wasn't even comfortable enough for me to reconsider. I happened to also buy New Balance's 520 v9 at the same time, and while that wide version was a MUCH better fit, it was still tight enough on my big toe (pointed toe) that i have to send them back. That said, however, the 520 v9 was a far more comfortable shoe, and for that reason i will actually being trying those again in a size up hoping for a good fit. The overall fit and comfort of these Walkers simply isn't worth another try.

Comfortable but poor build quality for the price
While these shoes are without a doubt comfortable for walking, Iโm disappointed in the build quality. With only 516KM walked in them (tracked using Garmin Connect) they are already showing signs of coming apart. The quality issue is enough to warrant a 3 star rating but given how expensive these shoes are they earn a 2 star rating. Update: currently at 938KM and shoes continue to deteriorate. See photos 3 and 4 for this latest update.
