Groovy
the map is easy to understand. the texture is shiny and it feels strong and sturdy unlike other maps which usually fold and crumple when used outdoors. i think it even repels water. its " grooo-veee "

Just get a free map at the airport...
Let me start by saying that I love the Groovy Bangkok map. Aaron was truly inspired when he created that product and it serves as an ultra lightweight guide to the city, with a plastic coating that makes the map last for many years. The Singapore version has decidedly less to offer, which may be somewhat due to the fact that Singapore is in constant metamorphosis, but also feels like it's because he just kind of phoned it in for a buck or two. My major complaint is that the Kampong Glam and Lavender Street areas are blacked out with an enlargement of the Chinatown District. The aforementioned neighborhoods are where you can find some of the lowest cost accommodations in Singapore, so it would seem essential to the demographic most likely to use this map. This map didn't lead me to any hidden gems, and it couldn't even take me to my hotel. There are free maps available at the airport taxi stand exit, as well as at nearly every hotel in the city, which are sadly superior in content to this map. But its true, the lamination is lovely. This product may be worthwhile in future editions if he corrects the missing segments, but due to the glut of free maps in Singapore it's not really a necessary purchase.

Great Map
If you are going on vacation check and see if there is a groovy map for that city. It has the out of the way stuff covered and pretty up to date. very very helpful!

Questions
Does it show the rail tracks and stations? Label the museums, hotels, shopping centers, sight attractions, parks, tall towers, etc?

boring city not so dead
its hard to find stuff to do in singapore apart from eat and eat and eat again. its a dead city in terms of nightlife except for weekends when everyone packs into a few choice places. anyway, i was happy to see this map out as i have never heard 'groovy' and 'singapore' and 'night' used in the same sentence before! its a simple map and their guide is to the point picking out all the in places to go and where to find a bit of life here. well set out and easy to use - also amusing. i think it must have been hard to find stuff to fill the map but somehow they did it - not that i am dissing singapore. im just glad someone somewhere is trying to locate the all night party! thanks!
