I am a 35 year old female who has struggled with poor posture her entire life. I had recently purchased a book on posture alignment exercises to help with my problems, but I found that it was hard to make time to do the exercises on my own. So I decided to purchase this DVD about three weeks ago, and it has already made a tremendous difference in my posture. I have only been doing the DVD about three times a week for the past three weeks, but my shoulders are already less hunched, and one of my shoulder rotator cuffs is no longer causing me the pain that it usually causes . Ms. Novak also includes Anywhere/Anytime exercises that you can do while at work, in the car, etc. These small exercises have been great in helping me ease tension out of my neck and shoulder, in particular. I have been bugging my 12 year old daughter for 2 years. We've taken her to physical therapists and nagged her countless times. Excellent program that works
I actually bought the original DVD of Janice Novak's posture program two years ago, which I loved (and did a review of here on Amazon). I noticed, however, that I wasn't doing the program as regularly as I should be since the main DVD is almost 90 minutes long. I would try to do the exercises on my own, but I like having something to follow along to, and I got lazy about fast-forwarding through all the explanations. I did a search the other day to see if any new posture DVD's had come out, and was excited to see that Novak had released an exercise-only disk.When I looked at Novak's website, it seemed as if Disk 1 in this two-disk pack was different from the original DVD (which is why I ordered this two-disk set), but they are the same. *So please note that if you already have the original DVD, then you do not need this two-pack set, but should instead buy the exercise-only DVD (disk 2) that is sold separately.*That being said, this program WORKS! I especially love how Disk 1 thoroughly explains the exercises (it runs just under 90 minutes), and Disk 2 contains just the exercises themselves (and runs about 45 minutes long). Disk 2 is also broken down into segments so you can just do those segments you need. There is a five-minute warm-up, twenty minutes of upper body exercises (to help with rounded shoulders, slouching, etc.), ten minutes of abs, ten minutes of lower back, and five minutes of all-over total body stretches.Doing these exercises will not just mask your bad posture, but will strengthen your back muscles so that you will be able to hold yourself upright and improve your posture. I know that this is a problem for me since I spend a lot of time sitting/rounding forward, and many of the workout DVD's I do tend to overemphasize working the chest (which exacerbates the problem of tight chest muscles) and they do not pay enough attention to strengthening the back. In addition to doing Novak's exercises a few days a week, I am also going to work on doing assisted chin-ups and pull-ups twice a week to further strengthen my back muscles.The non-latex band that comes with this DVD is also a great bonus since you need a nice, tight band to do the exercises. I've also noticed that the band that comes with this newer set is about 4 inches longer than the band that came with the original DVD, which is great because that band was too short, which made it hard to do some of the exercises.Overall, this is a great program that works, as long as you set aside the time to do the exercises a few days a week. Novak's pleasant personality and demeanor also make it enjoyable to work along with her doing these exercises.

Buy this DVD now!! It works!!! Update 3/18/15
Oh my goodness....this dvd works.I'm 29, in decent shape, about 5'5" and have terrible posture- for as long as I can remember. When I work out to my regular DVDs for cardio my back always feels better but still stoops. Denise Austin...she's my girl when I want a kick butt cardio. However- I work on my feet all day at a counter with my neck and back constantly bent over fulfilling orders. (I do love my job though) at the end of the day my back is killing me- and I mean killing me, horrific posture and and pain.So I found this dvd and thought 26 bucks is worth a shot to me. It came in the mail and I couldn't wait to pop it in. Here's how the dvd went: introduction where she explains everything then a five minute easy warmup. Then a few series of workouts done in a chair!!! Yes!!! I get to sit down while working out!! Then a series on the floor (may be harder for older people, but not for me at all). Now keep in mind these work outs seem incredibly easy and they are but if you do them correctly, they work and I was sore...still sore. Her breathing technique with the stomach muscles are killer and I do them all day at work. I've only used this dvd twice and I got through 5 hours of work with no back pain- 5 hours!! That's heaven to me! And I know I was standing straighter!! Did it again today and whew...I felt so much better!! I can't wait to do my exercises tomorrow!! Definitely worth a try. I will update if I stop getting results. The DVD is a tad dated but the lady seems super nice and definitely knows her stuff.Update::::!!!! 3/18/15I still love this dvd!! When my back/posture is feeling weak I do this dvd and my back is better than ever. This DVD is an everyday thing, not just a once and done. You have to tell yourself to stand or sit straighter during the day or it won't work as well, it's constant work but so worth it. I'm sticking with it, thirty years of bad posture isn't fixed over night. Give it time, I'm shooting for a year! Love this DVD!!!!!!!!

Love this. Great for neck/shoulder/back tension too.
It’s not the highest production quality and the recording feels a bit dated… but the content is A+ for people of all ages/fitness who want to correct their posture. The added bonus is that I’ve found it’s great for neck, shoulder and upper back tension. Highly recommend using wrist weights for the upper body portion too.

I'm impressed! I notice feeling looser in the neck, shoulders and across the chest (I sit at a desk all day.) The video takes about 45 minutes from start to finish but it really does make a difference. I have only done this a few times but I do feel that with continued use, it will provide long term results.
