Product description 1995 album from the beloved Canadians .com Like Led Zeppelin some 25 years ago, the Tea Party draw from a wealth of influences and cultures to create a sound uniquely their own, exotic and earthy, with neo-progressive flourishes and Middle Eastern-sounding melodies. On The Edges of Twilight they start off with a hefty punch of finely crafted, hypnotic hard rock, and then ease the listener into a world where piano ballads, the blues, and hypnotic, sitar-laden meditations seem to fit together perfectly. From gorgeous acoustic instrumentals to jarring teeth-rattlers, the Tea Party prove unusually adept at everything they try. Sure, they are essentially an FM rock band, having more in common with Alice in Chains and Queensryche than they may care to admit, but they have far more talent and depth than many of their rather one-dimensional contemporaries. It's this versatility and wealth of quality material that separate them from the pack. --Adem Tepedelen

Pitch perfect indeed!
My intro to The Tea Party was by way of Transmission, another amazing piece of work. While comparisons may exist, for me, TTP's music defies the convention of being put into a particular category. Long-winded way of saying that they are Unique. Give a listen, give all of their works a listen. It's worth the time. FWiW, this purchase replaces the original that apparently went missing from my collection of their entire catalog. Nice to have had some recent additions from them, too.

Cacophony!
Don't be fooled by the intrigue of song titles or the album cover art. A truly miserable excuse for music.

One of the greatest albums I have ever heard
It’s a long time since I been so blown away upon hearing an album. On reflection, the first Led Zeppelin CD (well, it was an LP in those days) pretty much knocked me off my feet in its genre-creating way. It was like nothing and I had ever heard and now, in 2017, I am sitting here with my headphones on -listening for the first time to The Edges Of Twilight by the Tea Party - and I’m a 16-year-old again, marvelling at the incredible music I am privileged to hear. This is powerful stuff - urgent, driving, breathtaking, intricate, demanding, diffuse, tribal, almost preternatural. But it’s not heavy metal in a way that Led Zep were way more cultured than Black Sabbath. It’s loud, metallic in places, and certainly thundering but it’s also subtly delicate - like a web spun by a deadly spider - and there are many moments of quiet beauty that soften the sheer power and feral energy of the musicianship. Some have said The Tea Party sounds like Led Zep fronted by the Doors’ Jim Morrison but that’s a lazy description. What they are is an incredibly talented group whose occasional deployment of middle eastern instruments adds an other-wordly dimension to their sonic palette. One reviewer called them the “greatest group in the world”. Maybe they are, maybe not. But one thing is certain: this album is one of the greatest I have heard in my lifetime.

If buying a used CD have a spare Jewel case just in case!!
Bought as a Used Cd - disc itself and booklet in pristine condition, however jewel case had a number of large cracks in. Put all in a new jewel case and looks like a brand new cd now. Quick delivery also.

Simply Brilliant
If you like good, melodic rock, beautiful and involving yet mystifying lyrics, Asian influence regarding instruments and theme, all blended to form a rich tapestry of an album, then this is for you. Not immediately accessible but worth the effort, like a fine marinade that takes time to infuse its flavours this album will soak into you.Soothing, angry and sad, it feels truly like a journey through times gone past.More of an experience than an album, definitely worth listening to with the lights down low.
