Review: Best portable stand I have ever owned, great service - Best transportable music stand I've ever owned: Transportable: If you just loosen the thumbscrews and collapse it, it's collapsed size is 17" by 3". Many stands only have 2 pieces, and so collapse into a much longer size. Timed it, 9 seconds. If like me you need to put it into a briefcase, you just loosen the thumbscrews and pull the 3 pieces apart and collapse the feet and stand. 14" by 3". 13 seconds. I don't bother with the bag that comes with it because if you tighten the thumbscrews it holds together as one compact piece. Adjustable: The rack can be tilted to any angle and set at a height from 24 to 45 inches. Once set, tighten the thumbscrews and it stays set, even if you hit it or put a heavy book on it. Holds the music: The rack is standard size, and in addition has two ears that stick up high, so that the big clip that comes with it can grab the top of the music and an ear no matter how tall the music it happens to be, but for most stuff if you have a page that wants to turn on its own, etc., you can swing those little springy things in picture 4 up to rest on the music, which they do with just enough pressure to hold it, but loose enough so it is easy flip the page fast. And the springy things are attached to the stand so they never get lost. Sturdy enough: If it was as sturdy as a concert stand, it would also be too heavy to carry around. It is sturdy enough so that, if you take care of it, it will take care of you. One caution: If you take the stand apart into 3 pieces for more compact storage, which most people won't need to do, be sure to tighten the thumbscrews snug. if you don't, and if the thumbscrews work loose while you are carrying it around, they or a little plastic piece can fall out and go hide in a crack somewhere. If you remember to tighten the thumbscrews after you take it apart, this can't happen. **Q: How to put together**
A: No tools needed.  You simply slide one pole into the 3-legged section.  Then put the other end (of the middle pole), into the butterfly section.  It took me about 20 seconds to put it together.  Once you get the hang of it, you should be able to put it together in less than 10 seconds.

**Q: Would this hold a 1in binder okay?**
A: The music “shelf” is only 3/4” depth. But think with your binder open, would hold fine, plus there are 2 weighted/spring type holders on the shelf itself, to hold your music. But if you have to turn a page, you’d have to flip those underneath & out of the way. Hope this helps.

**Q: Why can't I attach to top piece-the piece that holds the music, into the middle piece.  Loosened the screw-something stops it the insertion.**
A: I think we had the same issue: a small black part inside the tube is preventing the next tube to slid in. It seems like it should push open with the other tube, but it seemed stuck. We forcefully pushed it through, then inserted the tube, then put the now-loose black piece into its place. All assembled.

**Q: Are the stand and the screws strong enough to hold a binder folder without shaking?**
A: It’s a sturdy little thing. The only issue with the binder is if it is too thick it may slide off as the shelf part that holds the music is not that wide. But I don’t think the weight of a binder would be an issue with the stand if that makes sense

I mean it does what i need it to do but the little thingy that keeps the papers from flying kinda broke on me. I just twisted it back but it was clear that it wasnt very securely on. I dont think this item was made to stand the test of time (duh) but it’s portable and easy to put away if u dont have a lot of space (i love this) and its really easy to ser up. In all, it does what it needs to do and despite it’s quality, it’s ability to become compact won me over.
