Barely work, strongly not recommended
The motor is not strong enough to raise my roller blind. When it meets the connection point of the chain like the picture I uploaded, it immediately overloaded. And any mannual intervention will cause the calibration inaccurate. What's worse part is you have to do a complete factory reset to recalibrate. BTW, it can't work with Google Assistant, the Home app won't be able to connect to Brunt service. Alexa doesn't work well either, you have to open the Skill instead of directly control in smart home section. And one more thing, the push notifications is in Korean even though my phone is in English. Don't recommended. I'm considering a refund.

AVOID...way too many bugs and UI flaws
I was very excited to install this device as I have been waiting on an affordable smart shade solution for quite some time now. That said, these were a complete let down after trying them out for a week or so.First off, this thing would constantly overload and require a complete reset. The calibration of the blinds was consistently off and I would come home to find my shade pulled down way past the set max length. The app is a disaster and would connect to the device maybe half the time, not to mention give alert messages in Korean. I was also unable to connect to Alexa at all, and never received a response from customer service after several attempts.Returned for a refund after one week.

Modified Positive Assessment...
With correct adjustment, the operation of the blind engine is fairly smooth. The phone ap works well, and the widget is convenient. Response is slightly delayed, so you can anticipate the delay and time your use of the control buttons on the phone app accordingly. The adjustment of the chain is critical. It needs to have very little slack, be exactly balanced, and any plastic link retainers or clips removed, as they hang in the transit and cause the unit to bind. Your blinds should be level and the travel should be straight and without dragging against curtains or drapes. For Alexa functionality, it’s important to set up on a 2.4ghz network. The blinds should have a simple name, such as ‘Shade’. Alexa will give errors if the syntax isn’t simple and exact. The biggest cause of problems with the Brunt skill are related to commands not being understood. Thus, “Alexa, tell brunt raise Shade”, or, “Alexa, tell Brunt lower Shade 50” are better than more complicated sentences. Setting up Alexa routines works nicely - I have mine set up with a series of routines that raise and lower the blind in stages according to the position of the sun. It took me a while to realize that the blind engine and connectivity features were better than my first assessment. As usual, I was overcomplicating things. I had named the Shade, “Blind”, and would attempt commands like, “Alexa, ask Brunt to raise the blinds by 35%” only to be vexed by, “I’m having trouble accessing your Brunt skill...” Just the inclusion of the ‘s’ on ‘blind’ is enough to scuttle the action. Including ‘the’ confuses Alexa as to the actual name of the blind, and using ‘to’ and ‘percent’ increase the margin for error. If I’d understood this at the start I could have saved myself some grief, and spared the seller my bad review. I’m very happy with the product at this point. I can’t yet speak to durability. Given the cost of the engine, I’d feel more confident with fewer plastic parts. But I now find it to be among my favorite smart-things :-)

It almost worked but eventually failed to make connection
I previously posted a review of 5 stars because the device worked for me for about a month and a half. then something happened. Every day the device opens/closes blinds on scheduled time without a miss. Un-noticed by me, the device pushes/pulls the bead chain unevenly ever so slightly. Over time, the bead chain connector moved its position. Eventually it got trapped into the gear one day and caused an overloading condition with red light blinking fast and making a noise. At that point, I tried to use my smartphone to make adjustment of the high/low positions, but found I could no longer make connection.I contacted the customer support. The support staff tried to help me, I took their suggestions multiple times but connection always failed. I believe the overloading event corrupted the device internal memory and affected the device connectivity. The support was unable to fix this connection problem. The automation no longer worked. Eventually they agreed to a refund. I plan to replace by blind 's bead chain cord to remove/reduce the connector so that it does not get trapped. The device almost worked, but in the end the design missed a few important details. I do think it is the best blind automation solution on the market if you can avoid the chain cord problem. I personally evaluated several other products on the market, none is close to the level of this product.

Google Assistant is not recognizing the product. I log ...
Google Assistant is not recognizing the product. I log in through "Home Control" and log in through Brunt and then the device doesn't show up in my Home Control!! I waited weeks for this to happen!

Doesn't quite meet the mark
I bought this to integrate to Alexa to automatically open and close my blinds at a certain time. I was also looking forward to being able to tell Alexa to open and close at will. The device is easy to setup and install. That is where the good stuff ends.If you want to adjust the fully opened and closed setting, you have to remove and re-add the device. The device is deep and gets the blind in the middle of the chain. Really don't have an option to mount the motor outside of the window frame, or the chain can't move freely.I have not been able to get the device to move the blind all the way up and down without it giving me an overload error. The integration to Alexa is not seamless. It does not show up as a device in Alexa. You have to instruct Alexa to tell Brunt to do something with a device. Not really the experience I'm looking for.Needless to say I will be returning it. I can't see spending over $100 per window for something that misses the mark.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.
