ArtiDiag EU-BBA OBD2 Scanner for Mercedes-Benz/BMW/V.A.G ONLY, Car Diagnostic Tool with Bi-Directional Control, ECU Online Coding, All Resets Service Functions

I previously had a Carly ODB reader but a recent update by Carly rendered that useless on our car (a Mercedes ML250). I was always really disappointed with the Carly on the Mercedes - it wouldn’t code any features and the codes were unhelpful to say the least, but it was better than nothing. However, following the update (Carly at least refunded me the money) I bought this as I had faulty parking sensors at the rear of the car and I am blown away by how good it is. Build quality is spot on - it’s rugged and it scans SO much quicker than the Carly. And the features it provides blew me away - not only do I get in-depth codes and helpful repair details but I discovered I could dive in and code features - after 7 years, I now finally have rear parking sensors that beep as soon as they start picking up an obstacle (Mercedes default for some crazy reason is to only beep when things are really close!!). It also perfectly diagnosed the rear sensor fault - telling me one sensor was faulty and the one I’d replaced, I’d replaced with the wrong version! Additionally, it allows you to see live frame data as the car is running and also allows you to activate individual body components - like lowering or raising the rear air suspension on our BMW E70 X5 when I needed to replace a rear suspension air bag, or putting wipers into the park position to help with changing the wiper arms - it’s absolutely fantastic. I really can’t tell you how impressed I am! Update - have owned this for some months now and it continues to impress. The ability to access true service menus on the Merc - way ahead of the Carly - is fantastic, and the reports it generates via WR code or direct to email is just brilliant. It does seem to need to be connected to WiFi to work properly; even if you’ve no WiFi where you’re working, I find I can easily tether it to my phone’s personal WiFi hotspot and it works a treat. Brilliant bit of kit and worth every penny.

Topdon have done it again with this one. Small, sleek and light yet it feels good in the hand. Very capable little tool. Comes with a charger lead and a DLC cable, the unit charges when plugged into a car which is great, especially when you need to go on a test drive and can't leave it plugged into the wall. Quick and easy to use, perfect for code reading, service resets, DPF regens etc. I've not used it on too many models so I can't say how good it is for everything but IF I had to complain about anything it is that it doesn't do PSA vehicles which isn't a problem for me. Lads at work keep using it so it must be decent. Good value for the money. Well done Topdon.

Topdon have designed a really compact scan tool. The tool is great in the hand and not too heavy and it comes in a handy case with a charge lead, one connection lead (DLC) and the tool itself. The screen is clear and all the functions on the display are easily readable. The tool can be charged via the mains or by the vehicle it is plugged in to. I linked it to the WIFI and did a software update and it was good to go. I haven’t tried it on too many vehicles as yet but what vehicles I have used it on for error codes and a maintenance reset etc it has passed the test and it’s quick to react. The downside on my thoughts are, it has a short cable, a longer cable would allow the user to operate the tool while out of the vehicle, maybe an idea for the future or Bluetooth. A great value for money, I have recommended the item to my fellow car enthusiasts.

Does the job. Works well for Mercedes benz w177 and Audi A5 coupe us well 2019

This device is really, really good for the price if you have an EU car. It has EVERY data stream available, full system scanning (which is super quick), and just has more features than other scan tools of similar or slightly cheaper price. I havent tried the data coding yet but I am sure it probably works flawlessley

Disappointing. I purchased this for a W212 2012 Mercedes to code in new head restraints that I had to get imported as they were not available in the UK and my local Mercedes dealer could not fit as they did not supply the items. The car is not remapped or had its ECU touched before and is a UK vehicle. Upon boot it goes straight into a scan and downloads updates for various models of cars which I didn’t ask it to do or need. The faults it’s produced were all software errors which were a sign of things to come as I had no faults on the car to my knowledge. I checked the updates and saw there were features not installed and then I updated related to the OBD port as this device claimed bi-directional coding. After it rebooted. It would no longer connect to the car. It stopped auto detecting the VIN. Multiple firmware updates, restarted and factory resets did not work. Tried a different WiFi network just in case ports were being blocked and still the same issues. The scan would no longer connect to the car or offer the advertised features. Paid £220 in June 2026 and will never touch this brand again.

Is ok for general functions diagnosis of vehicle issues for most brands of cars. Unfortunately for my BMW the idrive update function doesn't appear properly on the screen so you cannot use this function correctly. You will be ok for all other functions however.

This model of top don did most of the servicing I needed. But is limited to basiv procedures. The user experience is truly misreble. Never ending connection and download times.

This TOPDON AD500 paid for itself. I used this scanner tool to auto read a 2016 compass ABS problems. Scanner read ABS not functioning, I replayed all four ABS data charts and found "front right wheel" not working. Amazing, I was able to replace only the parts I needed, cleared the codes and jeep is working great. I used scanner to clear air bag light on dash of 2014 Mirage, annoying light is gone.

Tolles Gerät! Fehlermeldungen lassen sich vor dem TÜV zurücksetzen (wenn der Fehler beseitigt wurde). Beim 211er Diesel kann man die DPF-Regeneration anstoßen, beim 212er habe ich es leider nicht geschafft. Weiterhin gibt das Gerät viele Werte aus, die einem sonst verborgen bleiben… Würde ich wieder kaufen.

This diagnostic reader is a great size, easy to use ("plug and play" style basically), and comes with a convenient carrying bag for unit and cable. Automatically reads VIN, touchscreen and also has side controls. Very user friendly. Not only displays codes but tells you the meaning of the code so you do not have to search the internet for answers and allowed me to clear the code so the check engine light went off on my vehicle. I also took my vehicle to the dealership to verify that the reader was displaying correct code and it was spot on. This unit does a variety of things, not only diagnostic readings. I do want to mention that when I first received the unit and I was attempting to set it up (it connects to wifi to keep itself updated, set up your account, etc), I kept getting messages like the one I put in the pictures. It also seemed to lag horribly so I was unable to input my info correctly. I tried a few times with no success. I reached out to customer support and they were very quick in responding. Not sure why or what was happening but after I shut it down completely and restarted as directed by manufacturer's customer service, it came back up with no issues at all so this could have been my internet connection or one of the apps used on the unit. All and all, I would highly recommend!
