In stock form, the water flow for the filter was not adjustable. By adding a ball valve to the output tube on this filter I am now able to reduce its water flow so that it can be used in my smaller aquariums. This ball valve is well constructed of heavy plastic and should last for years. I'll update my experiences with it. May want small clamps *by M***5 on March 16, 2020* I put these on my tubing that run in and out from my aquarium to my external filter. I wanted a way to cut off water flow when moving around tubes so no more water pouring out unexpectedly. I did use small metal claps over each side connection, just in case.
