Smaller than a standard headphone jack (3.5mm of 1/8th inch). They do have a standard one as well. There is n static, it lasts long enough while walking my dogs listening to pandora on the iphones. I watched films. The only issue is, and it is really not. Is that you will not be able to connect to a new bluetooth if the other blue tooth is around. For example, I found this out when I had my mini ipad, nearby, but was trying to connect to a laptop to watch a movie. To switch over you have to turn off the mini ipad blue tooth. This also happened when I was parked and got into my bluetooth capable car with my iphone, I had to disconnect the headphones in ordr for my car to be able to make phone calls and the audio wold not otherwise work on either device. So, one blue tooth at ta time and you will be all set easily connecting to the devices. I was frustrated for a day or two keeping trying to connect to another device. It won't happen if you have another already connected device nearby.
