I got these way in advance of Halloween and finally got a chance to use them this weekend. I compared them to a set of plastic tools I had been using the last few years and the difference is night and day. The metal is superior for scraping, cleaning and cutting. I struggled with some of the saw tooth tools but I also had an abnormally thick pumpkin compared to other years, the scooping/scraper worked wonders and having the shorter handle I was able to insert the entire thing into the pumpkin. The curved punch like tool cut perfect circles and the filet like knife tool made rounding corners and cleaning rough edges a breeze. I also liked the poker tool to stab and remove loose pieces. I didn't use the triangle like punch to comment on it.The handles and coloring are fun and festive and surprisingly durable and even as they got slick with pumpkin juice the spider edges gave something to grip onto. The tools managed to stay sharp through at least 2 thick pumpkins so that was great. They also come in a nice carrying case and to be stored in until next year. I'm very happy with this set and threw the old plastic ones away immediately. These are a must have for the season!

Bottom line - would recommendI seem to have to purchase new carving tools every few years.. in my kids hands they tend to bend or break since the saw blades are usually very flimsy. I saw this set and decided to order it, since it was less than I was used to spending and came with more tools.When the product arrived l, I was pleased with the quality...they are certainly a little thicker and sturdier than my old tools and have a much better handle (more ergonomic and better grip). The straight bladed tools are very sharp...so I would nit recommend thise for younger kids - though the saw blades I feel would be OK with normal supervision. This also comes with a zippered case for storage and a few stencils to get you started with some basic designs.Overall this is a great set at a good price.

We used this set today to carve four pumpkins. I’m used to the cheaper plastic sets that you can find in your local drugstore. Compared to those sets, which are basically single use, this set was an amazing step up. Each of the tools were sharp and strong - they didn’t bend while carving or piercing the pumpkins, unlike those cheaper sets. Also, the handles were really good quality and felt hefty enough to get a secure grip. They weren’t slippery despite how slimy our pumpkins were. I’m super impressed with this set and will definitely use it again next year.

For this price point, you can't beat the value! The kit comes as described and includes a nice carrying pouch for tools that seem solid made of metal and plastic, and a user manual. The stencils are nothing special, pretty basic jack o lantern face shapes on paper. But hey, I'm not complaining for all that, this is a deal! I would recommend.

These stainless carving tools are longer and better quality than the small sets we've bought locally in the past. Only the one tool with the curved blade felt even slightly sharp, and that one had a plastic blade guard on it. I tested the cutting ability and they cut well with a little pressure. They have a nice feel to them.We like the nice orange bag to store the carving tools in, although slightly disappointed that the metal zipper clasp fell off when we tried to zip it shut. We are anticipating a great pumpkin-carving afternoon using these nice tools.
